However, part of the Nazi success was the enthusiasm demonstrated by German citizens in denouncing their Jewish neighbors for a variety of reasons. Many of the German citizenry was complicit in the murder of the Jews. I cannot comment on what the Japanese citizens knew regarding the actions of the Imperial army but it is well-known that many Germans knew what was happening to the Jews and welcomed it.

@lSzeSze If you think it's inhumane simply to be indoctrinated by a culture, then that's your business. It's the same as saying corporate backstabbings and corruption in the government is inhumane just because they're part of the system in any given country, say, the U.S., or China. The Japanese acted like animals because their culture dictated them to fight like animals. The rest of the "inhumane acts" were just fill-ins created by human nature. We're all savage anyways.

And the U.S stopped their slave trading and tried to prevent racism when they figured out what was wrong with their ways. I just thought it was better for them to atleast admit what they've done instead of trying to cover it all up, they may have acted like animals for a reason like you said but any kind of killing is wrong no matter what the reason is. They were treating other people's lives like toys, I don't think they had such a culture because i always thought of them as peaceful in some way. Tbh.. Every country has their bad points. It's a matter of admiting it.

I said that the inhumane acts were a result of the way every Japanese citizen was brought up (ergo the term culture), NOT that their culture dictated violence. and 3. I honestly doubt that if one were to grab a Japanese citizen off the street, they would feign ignorance as to how their ancestors treated people in WWII. In addition, it is pure assumption, generalization, and hubris that all Japanese citizens deny their crimes.

You didn't mention "brought up" so from what I see, it was only natural that i thought u said it was because of their culture. 3. I never even thought that every Japanese citizen would deny their crimes. Also, I wouldn't say it is pure assumption since people normally base their statements from what they see or hear. The problem is this. Germany did something atrocious. They were trying to literately wipe out the jewish existents. However long after the war the germans publicly apologized for their crimes. People still remember but things have cooled down.
The Japanese however are still hated because they just gave a general apology for the war. They never apologized for anything specific, like comfort women, The netherlands where I'm from has a big problem with this and Unit 731.
