@mattjones969 even crazier- professionals are paid. they can make a living by simply performing in their sport. not rowers- a small stipend is all you get and thus, these guys have to work to keep themselves up...

In order to keep these medals coming we have to increase funding to these athletes. Shame the current government has cut funding to so many sports, and had gone back on its word with regards to funding well before recession.

the song is called Madokara Mieru . if you think the commentator got excited by this, you should listen to his commentry for pincent and co in anthens 04, he was going nuts cause the race was much much closer and even when redgrave got his 5th gold in Sydney he was going mentle!

zzz. B'cos Great Britain is a country. It's a combination of the 3. Why don't Canada's territories and provinces all sepereate? Some of their provinces are bigger than the UK combined. So why don't you moan that they all become their own countries eh? England, Wales and Scotland United a long time ago to become a single country. If you want to whinge about them being seperate, they all use the same currency for a start, and the same passports. So quit whinging.

Making a country called Oceania would be a good idea if you'd like to compete with us a wee bit more, but it takes a lot of time and effort before you can have the 'GREAT' prefix to a country's name.

I remember that moment live on TV, literally wanting to stand up and shout at the TV. As sad as it sounds I did it anyways. They had the hopes of a nation hanging on their shoulders and they didn't let us down.
