  • My six year old son dose not stick rod as much as this guy doses

  • hu hu hey beavis

he said put your rod in the pipe!!

    haha

  • thats why the call it ..."stick welding"

  • If you want to check side to side turn the elbow on it's side two hole the flange and make sure the face is level then get two 3/4 nuts and put them on each end of the 90 and set a level across them it will tell you if it needs to be hit up or down, this will be a good way to make sure it's fit good, After years of doing this you can get very close by just looking at the fitting and gap but factory ends alot of times are not very good so just looking at the gap is not the best way to fit it..

  • Hope you don't follow any of this dudes advice you'll be better off

  • Would NEVER Pass 100% X-Ray!!!!

    Paint Is Contaminating the Weld!!!!!!!!

  • hahahah.., full of blah blah blah .,., do it men

  • OMG.What a hack.hahahaha

  • Sometimes I will lay the elbow on it's side and level the flange and take two 3/4 nuts and stand them up on the side of the elbow oposite ends of each other and set my level on top and then hit the elbow up or down because factory ends are not always true even on american fittings, good job fitting and welding by yourself I know how hard it is to hold level and tack been doing this for 23 years.

  • hi_ï_fÊél_sõ_lÒnèlÿ_tÕdáY

  • hope you don't smoke cigs after inhaling all of that smoke

  • wow, listening to all the welders here, you would think all welders are total jerks always shitting on everyone else's work

"it can't be good because it wasn't done by ME !!"

and "oh he doesn't that one little insignificant thing that I do, he clearly sucks balls"

you can't learn shit with that attitude anyway

  • why would you use 70+ on a line pipe. it has higher tensile strength but its more brittle then 5p+. you can take two 20 ft joints and weld a root and a hot pass with 5p+ and pick it up in the middle and it will hold. but with 70+ it will snap. people dont understand the tensile strength is your pull strength. for those who dont know 70+ is 8010g what he is using in the video

  • best too weld pipe with a tig welder, plus

grind the paint off the fitting

  • would'nt you also bevel it too??

  • How about you use a jack stand dick head

  • this video was great i thought i was a shit welder till i seen this guy LOL thanks for the confidence boost

  • Hes a yank.. corse hes shite

  • @callummckay he might be shit but all you down south good ol boys suck at welding too d@*K

  • i still say basspole is a fucin mass production trailer welder . while im a 90,000 a year boiler tube welder , so who is the real dumbass

  • The fitter or helper does that shit, the welder tacks, unless your in Texas.

  • a short piece of 1"x1" angle iron tacked to the bottom of the pipe would help a guy working by himself :-)

  • I know that sound ,, He's burning a hole :p

  • SCAB!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HUGE tack dude LOL!!!!!! You should be using squares instead of "bubble matching" the sound @ 3:53 is called "penetration". You must not be a union guy. Perfect edges on fittings? what planet did your company buy them from? welding with both hands is definitely important...whether you're holding the stinger in your left OR right hands, you should be using both hands. There isnt a rule abhout that anywhere...at least a written one, but its bad welding practice to not use both hands.

  • @basspole sorry ass tacker

  • @SHEPARDWISPERER ass tacker? wtf is that? is english your first language? if not, shut up, ballbag...you can't have it both ways meaning, you cant insult me while insulting yourself, shit for brains.

  • @basspole Union guy's make me laugh. Individuals like mdtread are the real talent in this world. There a many "union" welders that should be let go.

  • 日本語でおK?

  • Nice Speed Glass hood I love them. Thanks for sharing and teaching us welders more things to weld. Hope I can find another job doing it. I love welding.

  • why would anyone want a 90 elbow on a streering wheel , ok i see when drivin while blind if you get a little sick you can barf into the elbow so as not to screw up your saturday night clothes

  • @SHEPARDWISPERER dude how stupid can u be!!!!the flange is attached to the steering wheel.steering wheel is to hold the flange

  • @rmorense come on man you know dang well that its probubly against the law in most states to drive with this steering contraption of his , so he really needs to have a disclaimer so as to not get folks in deep shit with the popo

  • @SHEPARDWISPERER probubly? dang well? jesus...you fucking redneck idiot. here's the disclaimer: The opinion of the moron SHEPARDWISPERER does not reflect the opinion of anyone that can actually form coherent thought. Shepardwisperer has intercourse with sheep, and therefore should be completely erradicated from the population of human beings.

I think I speak for all of the YouTube community when I say, Please go step in front of a bus you inbred cousin-fucker.

  • @basspole , this loser must work at a production sweat shop and welded one to many galvanized fence posts , burned out his noodle snorting the fumes . come on admit it everyone at work knows you as asspole the feeble minded production welder

  • @SHEPARDWISPERER It's incredible how stupid you are. You bash every video you see, yet you misspell every other word, even your own screen name. WOW!!!

  • @SHEPARDWISPERER dumbass theres a flange on the "steering wheel"...by the way, you spelled it streering

  • @basspole asspole

  • Michael, Keep up the good work. You are helping people to weld and thats good besides it cost nothing to see your you tube videos. Life is about learning and i am sure a lot of people will be greatful for that.

  • It sounds like your using 6010+ (5p+) What are you using as your filler?

  • I enjoy your vidoes and its nice of you to show the elementary factors involved in pipe fitting and welding. It looks like a 4 inch elbow you are setting up. In australia now you dont see much stick welding any more. TIG is the way to go. goodluck

  • Offshore welders earn $2,775.00 per 84 hr. work week. If you would like to work offshore, send to me your email address.

  • @moseseseseses i would love to weld offshore tell me where

  • this guy couldnt fit legos

  • get a welding magnet. holds everything for you

  • 1-what kind of welder is that? brand model?

2-why does electode stick to the piece? is that because of stick welding?

  • Im taking welding class this year and i dont get the rod stuck as much as this poor dude.....

  • He says at 4 minutes into this video "When your not stuffing your rod inside a pipe..." hehhehheh, he said stuffin you're rod... hehhehheh, yeah.

  • Is this guy serious? He cant even strike an arc with out sticking his rod...i guess thats why its called stick welding. last i checked you dont run beads with 70+.

  • good job on your videos

  • If YouTube had a filter to delete every comment that had the word 'suck', 'homo' or 'fuck' in it, half the site would disappear :-P

  • put yourself a piece of angle iron for the fitting to set on while you tack it .

  • did i hit a nerve lchilds82

  • u cant weld or pipefit, get a job u homo

  • @00180mille why are all you welding fucks so fucking competitive, every single welding vid on here has some dick saying "this guy cant weld" blah blah blah

    Cry much...............

  • You have to look at the average mentality of the same welding assholes to understand.

  • @lchilds82 welding is a sport i was in a competition for it

  • you suck come weld in canada 80 inches min keep trying

  • The red seal is a joke

  • sounds good. onece you get that keyhole goin your good lol u started at 6 then went to 3 that what i doo too

  • same here lol

  • i wouldnt trust this guy with a garden hose. you never trust factory edges. on top of it all you can see he doesnt check his level after his welds. when he welded at 12 o clock and he wasnt even squared up. then after he moves on to the next weld he doesnt square it up before he welds. i dont car what anyone says he's a back yard hooligan

  • That's too bad you can't see more than the 5 minutes of what is shown here because in the full length videos you get all the aspects of the total fit. I do check the fit. If you have been doing this as long as I have been somethings you know are in working order. Thanks anyway for your comment Starboy.

  • im sure he did it the right way , sometimes the eye and experience is the best way, if you have ten welders welding something i bet they do it their way and not all the same ive been welding for a long time also so i speak from experience i have welding awards and a stack of certification papers to prove me abilities , so im saying he did it they way that it works for him .

  • yes you are right about everybody doing it there own way. but telling me you have X amount of trophies doesnt mean nothing. In amateur boxing if you do it for more than 2 years your going to have tons of trophies even if you suck at it. anybody with experiance can see your on the bottom of the barrel when it comes to welding. heck common sense tells you never trust a factory edge and to square up what your doing before and after.

  • Ive done some very critical welding and won some very important awards for my work, I ve welded everything from paper thin to 6 inches thick in all positions and have never had slag inclusion, mig stick heli you name it but i guess there is always something to learn , you are right never trust anything check it out first, RIGHT?

Oh and by the way you dont win trophy s unless you win right? ha ha Im not trying to argue with you my friend .

  • oh no its all in good debate and it seems to be the norm on the net. but back to the trophy thing you dont have to win nothing to get awards and trophies. its evident in every sector in every place in america. i can weld with my eyes shut standing on my head with one arm. most welds to have slag inclusion. but since you are an expert welder tell me with all the experiance this guy has that it isnt normal to have it stick as much. it stuck every other second and he doesnt square nothing

  • too little heat or maybe his technique or maybe he has moisture in his rods i cant tell what rod he is using but on a root pass or just tacking it together it might be a good idea to use a 6010, 6013 fast freeze rod thats not saying you cant use a 7018 for a root pass and as far as his heat settings he went from 90 to 105 thats a little cold in my opinion using a 1/8 rod I would up my setting to about 125 that way it gets good penetration and the rod wont stick .

  • lol. who are you telling me or him? im not the one in the video. im the guy saying i wouldnt trust him with a garden hose.

  • i am refering to him in the vidio not you i said his technique not yours lolol, i am disgusing this with you ha ha ha hell lets keep welding and making things however it turns out what ya say my friend ?

  • @starboy112 its a 90 elbow not a 40 foot pipe why would you square it just level it to your 2 hole. and as long as your land is fine from the factory and your gap is the close all the way around you dont need to touch it. just buff the paint off.

  • the way the man explains what he s doing is proper and he s doing a good job there is always an opinionated idiot critisizing

  • before you even started you didnt even check the square of the entire elbow. you pretty much used a square to advertise what you believe was knowledge of yourself. people with experiance can see you dont do things correctly. especially the amp adjusments etc or what you called "heat". theres a reason why that was sticking

  • Hey astroboy112, why dont you make your own video and let us see what you are talking about and let some newbies learn from what you are bragging at.

  • @mdtread yeah, jesus was on awesome dude!

  • first off no real pipefitter works without flangepins so u can two hole it properly don't just throw a level on it quick thats insane.2nd off use a pipestand for your elbow and clamp it down so it doesnt move on you, dont juggle a stinger and an elbow. if your trying to show ppl how 2 fit at least get the proper tools you dont have anything.

  • man you sound like a rookie pipe welder go back to class befor you talk out your ass

  • i was thinking the same thing why wouldnt he clamp it so it dont move as soon as he sets his hood bes gonna move it slightly im a rookie pipewelder but hell even i can spot this im glad you said something cause people are gettin bad info on here

  • wow thats gotta be the dumbest way to fit an elbow on a flange it's almost funny. If I was the mike holmes of welding i would slap this guy.

  • How do i become a welder... It looks so interesting and i wanna do it as a career... If someone can please help me out that would be great

  • could you posibly draw out on a board or fab table a 1 weld off set

  • for instructional purposes. dont hate, put your own video out then talk.

  • you should number your videos

  • I normally use 5p+ but I didn't have any in my shop at that time and I didn't matter what I used on that project.

  • can i hold the electrode while welding??

  • yes but make sure your gloves are dry.

  • so i dont get burned/shocked??

  • Not when you are working on what i was doing.

I am not operating out of a code. It was what I had laying around so I used it.

  • that 8010G or 70+ rod is used for your hotpass filler and cap.

  • Why dont use a 5p+ rod for your bead? thats why you keep stickin that rod every time you try to run that bead. API 1104 requires that.

  • I am not sure of what you mean as far as a welders kit?

You need that machine, hood, grinder, gloves, rod, etc

You don't need a tank unless you are doing tig welding or mig welding. You can easily find some of your answers online by doing some searches on various types of welding and the equipment you will need for that type of welding.

  • Hey do you have any videos on welding 6G position 6010 root weld and 7018 hot pass and cap?

If you could get back to me with an answer before the weekend is done that would be great. Have a weld test tuesday and I haven't welded pipe in almost 3 years. I got my ticket back then but I am rusty.

  • so if i have a welders kit, what do i need as far as tanks of...? like what is the welder connected to?

  • that was this project required.

  • you stick your rod alot

  • Your looking at him.

I am the fitter, helper, welder, you name it.

I live in Wyoming. It is a different world than I am sure you may be used to.

  • wheres your fitter!!??

  • (blazinloud)

An olde-timer pipe welder used to tell me that if you could fit for yourself - you're that much more valuable of an employee.

  • Thanks

  • It's nice to see that what I figured out by doing repairs in the feild (common sens to me - not a trained welder) is what is taught!!!

  • I didn't use any two hole pins. I never have. I have worked with fabricators that did use them, I have seen plenty of made up pins from things like pulverizing balls from a bowl mill and such but a level is all you need. Two hole pins makes it a bit easier but not necessary.

  • a bridge tack folks is necessary here because he's having to fit the 90 and tack it, leaving a tack that can be manipulated. twisted even! it's a clever move on his part. the only thing i wish that could be better is the video quality because you cannot see the 2 hole pins and their purpose!

  • hey where's your 2hole pins?

  • I am glad to sense that you actually know what is going on with this item. Have you ever welded chrome or such that you used a big ole nasty bridge tack, then have to grind that monster off there after you get some good weld on a root?

  • well said mdtread, and true.....

  • The only time I ever used a bridge tack was when I welded like on Chrome or something when the purge wasn't set on a tig weld and we were making a fit up. What did you bridge tack.

  • i preffer to tack with a nother person because i use bridge tack work good
