  • Spanish visitors here need to eat some humble pie. Your people were evil - they needed to be killed & were dealt with for many years by the British. Your nation has a history of irrational people & doctrines. It wasn't long ago that Franco was still in charge of your 'rat hole'. Haha!

  • viva Englatera!!! viva pirata!!!...LOL

  • anyone know the song that starts at 4:02?

  • @alexoh101 It's "My Name Is Lincoln" by Steve Jablonsky, from the soundtrack of "The Island"

  • @baijibaiji

    thanks!

  • cate blanchett is one of the best actresses ever, love her. she presents elizabeth in an unusual unique way which is simply amazing. outstanding performance :-)

  • Belle vidéo!

    bravo!

    André

  • At 4:48 there is a guy with while she is giving her speech of her hurricane, who is that actor? He is rather cute and don't think I have seen him before. If anyone knows his name please answer me, thanks:)

  • @MrDryose I think it's the actor Laurence Fox playing Sir Christopher Hatton :)

  • @baijibaiji ah, thanks:) I googled him and sadly enough he looks better in the movie lol He is still good looking though. Thanks for responding.

  • my gosh people... both women are dead. RU PAUL is the better 'queen'.! there!

  • Anyone know what the piece of music that plays at the very first part of this trailer? The one that plays as the priest walk infront of the sail? Just curious. Viva Espana y igelsia catholica!

  • @dorkfish78 VIVA A IGLESIA PROTESTANTE! Queen Elizabeth was PROTESTANT and me too.

  • I 'm not sure either queen was necessarily blood-thirsty. Both would rather have found peaceful ways to settle sectarian differences but they were surrounded by blood-thirsty people whose fight seemed to be as much about land and imperial power, as it was about religion.

Elizabeth may have been wrong to allow the deaths of so many Catholics, but she was not wrong to want to protect England from Spanish invaders.

  • loovvvee this movie...cate blanchett does an amazing job..one of my new favorites

  • In regards to the comment about good Queen Bess executing 800 Catholics...I think someone has been watching alittle bit too much EWTN because that never happened, There are still many out there that are bitter about the Reformation, The church was actually finding stability under Elizabeth, including reversing all edicts given under Mary I. Elizabeth gave England a Renaissance where Mary gave it fear and terror

  • Queen Mary I burned 285 people in 5 years, Queen Elizabeth I burned 5 in 45 years.

Mary I ordered over 300 people's executions. Elizabeth ordered 30 people to be executed. (More died in Elizabeth's reign, but not by her order.)

Queen Mary was loved by her mother. Elizabeth had hers taken from her when she was two.

Elizabeth rose above every challenge, every obstacle, and every judgmental idiot who couldn't accept her. Mary sunk below them.

Who again is the better monarch?

  • @swimmy1000 HERE HERE! Anne would be proud of Elizabeth

  • For God's sake, will I have to ask 'WorkingTitle' or could anyone tell me the name of the song that starts at 0:00 and ends at 0:27?! It's kinda Pop Gregorian and I KNOW IT'S NOT "MY NAME IS LINCOLN"! Thanks.

  • Got it on dvd! Can't wait to see it

  • Anyone knows where I can get the song that starts at 4:01 ? Such an awesome instrumental

  • @Ratel257 its called my name is Lincoln

  • the golden age?¿ ajajjajajajjajaja THE GOLDEN AGE OF SPAIN.....

    LIARSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • @SoldierIberian1 Pirates rule. Thanks for all that gold Spain :)

  • ITS A PERFECT MONTAZED TRAILER!!! TWO THUMBS UP TO THE CREATOR OF IT.

  • @IRIDOMANIA "ITS A PERFECT MONTAZED TRAILER!!!"

Yep - The trailer was better than the film :)

  • The best elizabeth I movie so far, sorry to say to the others. :)

  • sht compared to the first one .... too romantic, not enough real politics

  • Keep all discourse in English. Aye!

  • OMG!!! that's my favorite line too!!! "I CAN COMMAND THE WIND SIR...I HAVE A HURRICANE IN ME THAT WILL STRIP SPAIN BARE IF YOU DARE TRY ME!"

  • i just watched the movie again over the weekend and it was amazing! clive owen and cate blanchett were awesome =)

  • anyone knows the name of the first music?

  • I too can command the wind, sir. I have a hurricane in me that would strip Spain bare if you dare to try me.." my favorite line!

  • Elizabeth the First has a spirit that will "reign" forever.

  • Greatness!

  • One Aussie is hellbent on demonizing the British in movies (Mel Gibson) and the other (Blanchett) has made a career in defending them!

  • this is the best movie trailor I've ever seen

  • What's the cool song at the beginning?? I've heard it in other videos and am wondering what it's called/who performed it??

  • yes, but not only the protestant kings of England killed religous dissenters! what about Elizabeths sister, the catholic queen Mary? there is a reason why she was nicknamed "bloody Mary"

  • It´s true,Mary executed 283 protestants, however something ironic is the fact that Elizabeth who was called Good queen Bess, executed 800 catholics for trying to have Mass

  • If Mary was bloodthirsty i guess that Elizabeth was more than twice as bloodthirsty.

  • I think they both were a little bit bloodthirsty but it was a different time and they were always afraid to loose their throne. but while Mary reigned for only 5 years Elizabeth was queen for 44 years, which makes Mary seem worse. If she would have longer she would have killed probably far more people. anyway you are right Elizabeth was no angel, but somehow I just like her for her strength. I know she killed a lot of catholics and since I`m catholic myself I don`t like the idea of it.

  • Well we can´t judge the acts of the past with the perception of the present, that´s true,it was another time, she murdered a lot of catholics in just a few years, not only along those 44 years. What i don´t like about this queen is that she killed more people than the spanish and roman inquisitions did together during their 350 years of history, she supported the piracy and was the first english person to enter into the transatlantic slave trade.I honestly don´t find reasons to admire her.

  • @87elia87 Well duh, if these Catholics were plotting to assassinate her and take away English sovereignty and were sending their men in waves, she's got to do something. Kill or be killed. You don't have to be bloodthirsty to be practical.

Queen Mary killed the protestants for having a religion that was heretical in the eyes of hers.

  • I admire Saint Joan of Arc,she was really strong, just a poor and illiterate country girl of 17 years old that led the French royal army, she´s indeed considered a true heroine not only a saint.

  • well Joan of Arc wasn't a military genius or anything. She gave the people of France a sense of nationalism. For the first time, the French people were filled with the idea of being proud of being French. That is why Joan was such an effective leader. Queen Elizabeth did practice religious tolerance, as she clearly defined church doctrine and allowed Catholics to practice their rituals in public in her later years.

  • Elizabeth was a great lady. She did what was best for her kingdom because she realized she was a vessel for God's Light and Power.

  • i agree! :)

  • @87elia87

When an enemy is cruel...You must be twice or even ten times as cruel...Bloodthirsty? The fact of life is..That was fair

  • @87elia87 we can't be sure about that... we weren't there, we don't know that

  • @87elia87 no she dident?

  • Anyways the british army was destroyed by Blas de Lezo a few years later in the Battle of Cartagena de Indias, just 3000 spaniards fighting against 26.400 british, but i guess they forgot that little detail of their history lol

  • i dont see what this really has to do with anything. It was not nearly as signifigant as the Spanish Armada. England was not being invaded at Blas de Lezo.

Of course its an embarassment, but ti did not have the same impact as the Spanish Armada i think at least.

  • No, you´re wrong, that was very significant .England was not being invaded by Blas de Lezo, and Spain was not being invaded by Elizabeth either, but many people ignore that the british army was destroyed and they are proud of the feature of spanish army when everybody knows that the spanish army was destroyed cuz a storm appeared driving the spanish ships against the rocks, and not like a great battle as this movie try to show and many people think that was what really happened.

  • Cause it was the Hand of God destroying them :):)

  • There´s more history in a painting than in this p. of s. "film" (for lack of a better word). See in the National Portrait Gallery:

    The Somerset House Conference

    (1604)

A group portrait commemorating the peace treaty between England and Spain in 1604 that brought an end to a war that had dragged on for almost twenty years.

  • this was not a documentary, its suppose to entertain.

people take this film witha grain of salt, the historical facts are off.

If you are interested look it up

  • from i have read the english were more evil

  • of course, because the English killed 180 Catholic priests who were trying to bring down Elizabeth because she was a heretic apparently.

Yet Philip and the rest of Catholic Europe kill many Prtestants and Jews in their Inquisitions, yet England is evil for defending themselves

  • The spanish got owned. No shock there.

  • you tube: Blas de Lezo sea wolf

you tube: British defeats, Spanish victories

you tube: Tercioss 8 videos on Spain´s victories over England

  • this means nothing, England did not fall. Spain did evebtually. Napolean took over Spain in the 1800s, England would later control 25 percent of the Earth.

All those defeats are meaningless because inthe end Spain did not achieve itgs objectives.

they won the battle but not the war

  • The medici eneded the Dark ages

  • magnifcent !

  • The greatest queen ever! May be even the greatest woman ever. The one who ended the Dark Ages.

  • hey you know, they do exagerate these muvies a litle right? this is basickly how they tought history in those days...like a fable, the spanish "reconquista" was tought somewhat like that (i mean, one blue blond european in shining armer killing evil moors..haha (:) i mean, i'm not saying she was a bad queen but alot of these midle ages kings and queens killed alot of people you know.

  • She did not end the Dark ages actually

  • she did

  • No she did not! Read a history book!!!!!

  • I have read plenty of them. Thanks for the advice, anyway :)

  • Actually... The term Golden Age originates from Greek mythology and legend (and not Spanish).

I quote Wikipedia: "...known as a period of peace, harmony, stability and prosperity."

Although the movie sets the 16th century Spaniards as evil men, there's no need to insult our English neighbors ;-)

Every empire had their "Golden Age"... even the Dutch (and that went at the cost of the spices, resources and slaves of their colonies).

  • he never said the golden age was SPANISH

he said "edad de oro" like the movie is called in spanish is not accurate and indeed is not

edad de oro is exclusevily to refer to the Spanish Golden age that lasted more than 100 years

one more thing englanders are actually more evil than spaniards

  • nothing was quite so evil as the spanish inquisition - england was a driving force behind enlightenment and reason in europe - if spain had had their way, europe would still be in the dark ages.

  • @baijibaiji Indeed - the concept of kingdoms where the sun never sets (Which also is a term of Golden Age) - Is something every nation in Europe has experienced, even small nations as Denmark has had kingdoms vast enough to never let the sun set. And the Golden Age is really when an entire nation or world gives in to the art of Eudaimonia. First interpretered by Socrates and Plato - :)

  • @Dalladon The phrase 'The empire on which the sun never sets' was FIRST used to describe the Spanish Empire, because It was the FIRST global empire in history.

  • @thetruehagentronje Perhaps you should read into what I said - I never stated which nation was the first - I stated that it was first interpretered by two philosophers...and agreed with Baijibaiji that every nation in europe had mighty kingdoms like that. I don't care who's first, or who's last... the fact that you are first also means that you are likely to burn out first. Arrogance will always lead to downfall, specially considering that the phrase you speak of was uttered by Persians first.

OWNED

  • @MEVEOCHEVERE Como asi? Pardon soy de brasil, i know de history, but not this part, can you tell me some more? gracias.

  • whats the name of the music

  • Steve Jablonsky - My Name Is Lincoln

  • Brave is not the one who doesn't fear, but the one who confront its fears and even tough keeps moving.

The image of a woman who standed by her feet and accomplish so much, who offer her entire life to her country and her people,is tremendously inspiring.

She is an icon to every woman to always remember of our inner power.

    God save this Queen!

  • I wonder what side of you made you left a negative about my comment...

Inner power is the only force that no guy can stop.

And yes I say guy because a real man would never try to stop it but reinforce it and support it.

go and deal with your limitations!

  • God Save The Queen, Her Majesty Elizabeth The Great!

  • i love this movie!!!! Cate Blancheyy is amazing!

  • so good!!!!

  • i can't wait to see it.
