Sadly I see that the way we look matters all over the world way too much. Not only racial differences seem to matter, but also social classes.
I have had people say things based on being a woman. It is really silly I agree to follow stereotypes blindly. I rather people use no stereotypes at all. Well we shall see if that happens some day.
The reason this did not go anywhere for the "Hate White's" group is Gates DID NOT COMPLY, period. Dont bring race or "my house" into it.
I called SJPD to get someone out of my back yard.. 8 cops with guns drawn, a knee to my back & then they went on my property. If I cried like Gates "Uncle Tom" "I know the President" to the asshole Jr Cop near me as I sat on my driveway cuffed, I'd spent the night in jail.
Professor Gates was angry about the prospect about being accosted in his own home. Who wouldn't? If a white Professor had been arrested in his home, the "powers that be", especially on the right, would have made a huge outcry saying that the President had enforced martial law. Racism is alive and well. I have dear friends of color who have suffered from racism, and lost their jobs, as well as very close relatives who've been shunned by other relatives for relationships with non-whites.
This said, yes the President did have a rare emotional moment when he commented on this situation. I think he needs a week or two on the beach. But I think he was right in his statement. But I don't think he should have said it in his press conference. He might have mucked up our chances for universal healthcare. But I think he will pull it through. However, I wonder if most crimes are committed by people of color. I have my doubts. If so, it is because of hardship placed upon them.
Had Gates been white the president would not have even been asked to give an opinion on the incident. That alone shows how racist our country still is.
Every Country in the World has racism, don't think your special. If Gates was White Gates would have known that in a situation where a Cop is called out to you don't open your mouth and you do as you are told.
It was simply because Gates has a life of hate whity that he couldn't shut up. Now what makes me sick is, had our President been white, man, can you hear the hate from Jessy Jackson as he fleeces his own?

Completely. I apologize. I've never equated my anger w/Police procedures to racism.. I feel compassion for the American Black men & women because as I see it, I see many that center their lives on it. The leaders are all about racism.
A full culture of free men & women that are consistently (and maybe rightfully so) that who's leaders are angry hate filled people free from the weights of institutional racism, but yet they make their livings off of it.

But in the case of racism, the Black community is taught to listen for it and only it.... What if they get it wrong? What if the Cop gets it wrong, why is it racism?
I think the most glaring example to this is Affirmative action & Health Care. I'm for neither & that makes me smart, not racist

Lots of lies are being told often enough that there really are people who believe them and they don't bother looking things up for themselves. They simply hear trigger words and have fallen victim to what I would consider mass brainwashing. That may or may not apply to you.. I don't know. I happen to be Native American so I see race from an entirely different perspective.
Definately, for the lack of a better term it's a "no brainer".. As for the American Indian my father just had his DNA tested and he came out with American Indian 3% and Jewish 3%. Two flavors we did not know and we are trying to track it back...

The decent humans need to stop equating every issue that befalls them in life to race. I was denied service & spit on/at in Muslim countries. SO WHAT, it took me 20 min but I ate.
How many jobs have I been denied because I grew up poor and didn't go to college? THANK GOD, I have 3 companies now from $200..
actually after the cop was done talking to the 911 caller he noticed someone in the house he asked them to come out he said no(gates) then the cop said he got a call that the house was being burglurized then gates came out and said why cuz im a black man living in america and countinued yelling your not supposed to yell and refuse a cops request and crowley wasnt the only one to say that 2 other cambridge cops 6 harvard cops and several neighbors all say the same thing.

No, what mucked up your chances at socialized medicine is there are Americans in this country still.
Obama Town Hall 8-9/10-09 stated He had "2/3rds the money for the project of HCR" by cutting waste & Pork in DC.
The issue is because 47M or 15.7% don't have health care, right? Whats 2/3rds of 350,000,000?
Have you asked the important questions?
1. What is we just cannot pay. What is the penalty?
2. Can they lien our home?
3. IRS fines?
4. Can we be jailed for not paying?
