It's interesting the airbus/boeing debate. I prefer Boeing because they tend to crash less. Also an important fact here, a lot of the folk who work for Airbus are also members of the french transportation safety board, and air france including. Hence a lot of cover ups. Sounds like the Birgenair disaster, could possibly be, but we'll never find out because they never found the black boxes just like we never found the South African 747's black boxes off Mauritius in the Indian Ocean.
Well, we did find them, but about a year later and the tapes were in poor condition and the investigators were unable to find anything leading to the official cause of the accident (just some burned cargo).
@bubby963 the whole pitot tube thing doesn't really persuade me, the pitot static tubes are heated so it should prevent ice buildup and all the pitot tubes do is provide data its not cuz the data is wrong that u automatically die i know it can be very confusing for the pilots but still this is not enough to down a plane except if this caused retarded pilot error.
i think the crash was due to some external cause i would not eliminate foul play...time will tell maybe other planes will have difficulty in the area wait and see
With total fairness, both Airbus and Boeing make wonderful planes. I have often flown Air France. They are far my favourite airline and France is my favourite country. This accident was a freak of nature. Air France is an excellent airline. I am terribly sorry for all who died including all the passengers and all the crew. RIP.

Airbus and Boeing are the two leading and I would say best plane makers in the world. They have about the same safety records. Freak accidents can happen to Boeing as well... Electrical fire that may or may not have reached the cockpit. But probably not lightning as aircraft are designed to take hits from lightning and do regularly. My friend who is a first officer for Delta said the most that usually happens is the cabin lights flicker

look the fact is there's a radio signal which emits from the black box and the flight data recorder which are well beneath the surface and the signal is very low..in the time of the crash there was no direct contact with ATC because over oceans this is the rule...now if the plane goes beyond radar there is no possible way to find it..and after it disappeared it flied for some time that made it rather hard,and if a plane is down the water no GPS in the plane will work.ONLY THAT SIGNAL IS THE HOPE
you have radio signals confused with gps i think. i sell gps devices. i mean gps tracking devices. for example, you can track a car, pets, etc. with such devices. they use global positioning satellites for knowing where the object is. they run as long as battery is dead (or of course, the dc or ac power cuts off if it is not running on battery). my question is don't aircrafts have these devices in our modern times? i know signals are low or nill so many feet under water but it will at least...
actually no plane sends such gps signals to ATC(air traffic control) the gps positions r for the pilots ..and those co ordinates will b laved in the flight data recorder till the last moment ...so therefor if the data recorder cant be found it is impossible to say,,,,,look ATC tracks all its planes with radar...CLASS 2 AND CLASS 1 RADARS....they track aircafts to a certain height...the GPS was on the plane..so if the plane crashed the GPS is down under!! probably without power supply it is dead!

You wouldn't be able to pick up a signal strong enough from thousands of feet underwater and then send it up to a satellite.
This the signal is stronger and will last for an extended period of time =] Hope that explained it for ya .

I feel for the families that had relatives in this crash i am NOT ignoring that but if this is a cover up that is NOT right.. someone asked what would the benefit be from this?.. well maybe there was someone important on that plane Air France is Government owned in case you didn't know either way I will not be satisfied until i read the NTSB report oh and a interesting thing about 9/11 NONE of the flight strips for the flights that crashed had an ETA and that is also required for ALL IFR Traffic

My theory:
Electrical fire that may or may not have reached the cockpit. But probably not lightning as aircraft are designed to take hits from lightning and do regularly. My friend who is a first officer for Delta said the most that usually happens is the cabin lights flicker

I think you guys are looking into too much the government is evil business. People have to face the fact that natural disasters happen, I mean really ...what would they have to gain by lying to the public about a plane crash? Two bodies were found yes, along with a briefcase that had the flight ticket inside and a laptop. Even if they showed you guys pictures with debris you would claim it was a fake, I think the important thing right now is showing respect for the victims.

The latest news: two male bodies and a briefcase were found in the ocean. WELL, that's NOT proof that these people were traveling on that airplane, anybody could put those bodies there and a briefcase, and claim they were traveling on that plane. ...there is ALWAYS ALWAYS DEBRIS! Alaska 212, TWA 800 etc those were all over ocean accidents... Now correct me if i am wrong but to my best knowledge all planes have an ELT Emergency Locator Transmitter.. which is by law per FAR(Federal Aviation Fegulations) supposed to have a battery life of 48 Hours which transmits it geographical location NO MATTER WHERE! To ATC! I don't believe the news for ANYTHING AVIATION RELATED....

12 planes that shared the mid-atlantic ocean with the airbus departing almost at the same time as the lost plane said they never encountered any unusual weather conditions.

look the fact is there's a radio signal which emits from the black box and the flight data recorder which are well beneath the surface and the signal is very low..in the time of the crash there was no direct contact with ATC because over oceans this is the rule...now if the plane goes beyond radar there is no possible way to find it..and after it disappeared it flied for some time that made it rather hard,and if a plane is down the water no GPS in the plane will work.ONLY THAT SIGNAL IS THE HOPE

you have radio signals confused with gps i think. i sell gps devices. i mean gps tracking devices. for example, you can track a car, pets, etc. with such devices. they use global positioning satellites for knowing where the object is. they run as long as battery is dead (or of course, the dc or ac power cuts off if it is not running on battery). my question is don't aircrafts have these devices in our modern times? i know signals are low or nill so many feet under water but it will at least...

actually no plane sends such gps signals to ATC(air traffic control) the gps positions r for the pilots ..and those co ordinates will b laved in the flight data recorder till the last moment ...so therefor if the data recorder cant be found it is impossible to say,,,,,look ATC tracks all its planes with radar...CLASS 2 AND CLASS 1 RADARS....they track aircafts to a certain height...the GPS was on the plane..so if the plane crashed the GPS is down under!! probably without power supply it is dead!

I am really interested to find out what caused such a tragedy Rest In Peace and my prayers go out to the families and anyone that has been affected by this crash... Let just hope that the pilot was able to glide the plane onto land and resciers are simply looking in the wrong place and most people survived.... I don't like the fact that the news is sort of pushing an end to this crash and no one knows but like i said they might just be on land and were able to glide it down safetly..

They say that the plane may have stalled at 35,000 feet (cruising altitude). When planes go through heavy turbulance they slow down these pilots may have slowed down too much!.
