Thank you for visit Laos, Matt. But I am here in the U.S. Communist took my father away from our family for no reason, and died at consentration camp. We didn't feel safe to live there. I last visit Laos was 1995, still have that bad image of the day that they took my father away, nothing to be proud of. What's the point of a trip to the third world country, and you expect to spend less, but it's the other way around, all corruption.
I guest from now on, what use to be known to westerners; "Thai-Khean, Thai Icetea, Thai Papaya salad" just to name a fews. Now, the world will know those things are Lao. Perhaps, some Lao (from other side of Mekong) will be proud to identify themselves as Lao. Just my thought.LOL...
thai dont call it papaya salad they call it som tum and its isan food isan people made it popular. y lao people get so upset just call it what u want no one stoping u. lao people call muay thjai muay lao but difference is muaythai popular and muaylao not
