You should have been there in 1972 live at MSG. One of the all time best bands. They warmed up Mahavisnu Orchestra. I would stop playing drums for a month to think it over, being so blow away from that night. After that I would become a Cobham clone and a progressive drummer 4 life.
Every time I hear that clavinet thing of Kerry - and Ray´s bass counterpoint - especially in the first half of "Experience" , I´m about to p... my clothes. What a distinctive blend of classical music and funk intricacies. Now, is that a sign of musical feeling (sorry, don´t wanna boast) or is there just something growing too big in my lower parts - yes, the wrong one. After all I´m 51. Need help.
These guys were classically trained I think, wrote great tunes, practiced alot, and loved what they were doing, and of course, are very talented individuals. So to them, its a snap to let loose ! Glad they did ! They Rock !
@MrMeddled I do not know what kind of keyboard is that, but it's something like an ARP, that can loop the last thing played, and so, it repeats itself, until he cancels the looping.
@aragorn224 hi.he used a mellotron.check on yt,theres several demos of that thing. i saw these guys live in 1975 in montreal,canada,it was a blast.claude from montreal,canada.
Sono italiano e amo il prog(banco del mutuo soccorso,pfm) ho scoperto da poco i G.G.,ma devo dire che sono veramente eccezzionali!!(e anche molto copiati,per esempio il banco.).Grazie per il post!
how on earth did they do this stuff live...i don't usually watch or listen to live performances, i prefer studio precision over live energy but for these guys i make an exception
