I had the J-Pouch surgery three weeks ago . I'm eating kinda normally . I just have to be careful to not eat to much at dinner , if i don't I'm draining my ostomy a lot . Anybody out there have any problems adjusting to the bigger skin barriers ? Hit me back with advise . Also my supplier sucks ! anybody use Shield Health Care and have problems with getting orders and shipping right ? God I can't wait to get this next surgery so I can get rid of this ostomy bag.
I'm leary about diets and bowel disease. It is true that a bland diet that doesn't have a lot of grease and spice and junk like that will, in general, lessen the effects of ulcerative colitis. But I don't know if any diet will actually reverse the damage of colitis. Colitis is an immune system problem, and I think it takes more than just food to fix the immune system.
But I could be wrong. Some people have success with diets.

I've heard a vegan diet is good for reversing the effects of ulcerative colitis, I'm not sure how true that is though.
