and as far as judging how good a metal band is, it doesn't matter whether you have musical knowledge, if a lot of people like it then it's obviously good one way or the other.

I agree that a few meshuggah songs are of the same quality as 'Endless Cycle of Violence' by Cephalic Carnage but I get far more enjoyment out of listening to the Lucid Interval album than, well, any Meshuggah song actually. Grindcore is awesome, if you don't think so then your pretty much a pussy ;) Just to piss you off a little, I'm going to name some other bands that are also better than Meshuggah; Dying Fetus, Pig Destroyer, Amputated, Origin

No matter how you look at it, bands like Pig Destroyer, Origin and Dying Fetus are heavier than Meshuggah, create a better atmosphere and write better music to listen to (in my opinion). I get far more enjoyment from those bands and you showing your knowledge of genre names isn't going to change that ;)
