@str872 The ends of their 'antennae's' latch on to you, and they burrow in to you like a gigantic parasite, once they're inside of you, they infect you and spread throughout your body. They CAN be pulled off, but it's hard for you to do by yourself, especially in panic, just like how Chief pulled the parasite off of the Prophet of Regret.

Two: The big ones are covenant hunters.

Just so you know, the grunts are the egg carrier flood forms. You must be idiots to not notice they're small legs and the way they "explode" like suicide grunts. Plus in halo 2 if you zoom in to the bottom above the legs of the egg carriers, you can clearly see a grunts face.

@killrkitty122 To the flood their phisicly useless, short stubby legs, little to no strength , would take them too long to infect them into something better. I'm guessing you've seen how fast they change in combat, so transforming a grunt would take too long, could you imagine a fast and effective way to transform a grunt.Of course in Halo wars infected grunts could be seen but they were weak, for a while i thought that the big exploding ones were grunts but they weren't.

Flood have 3 stages:

-Infection Form

-Combat Form

-Carrier Form

Grunts are very weak in combat so the flood infecting them skip right to carrier form rather than living 6 months as a combat
