I'm not sure that's the southernmost reliable place for them. . . they are regulars all the way down to Ocean City, MD in the winter. We usually see them in pairs there though.
Awesome...I'm hoping to hit Barnegat next month! Here in Ohio they are rare...and even then we generally only get immatures or ad. females. I went to see a young bird hanging around a spot in Lake Erie a year or two ago...but before I could get there a hunter had bagged the bird. Such a shame.
not illegal to shoot harlequin in the northwest you are allowed 1 per season also thay are NOT very shy as DrFippin said thay decoy easy and use the same places day in and out if you know where that is you can find them anyday Pintails are one of the shy ducks not Harlequins

This is an amazing video- Harlequins are known to be one of the more shy ducks, making filming them so challenging. Nice work!
