That is the secong track from the america's a view from the ground album 1982. i met Dewey and Gerry the two times they came to Lima Peru in 93 and 2002 and i've got good memories from these two great musicians fine people too.
Susanne, this is a fabulous video, and it was a great time on a hot night. Great job! This is a classic. Love Dewey's & Rich's moves too, good choreography there.
I agree, it was weird sitting behind a white fence, I had to look through or between the white slats the whole night, and could barely see anything. Thanks for taking the video.
Don't ever take this song off YouTube! Taking Dog the Bounty Hunter off air is enough loss! This is a wonderful piece of music with so much in it! Was it filmed in the 1982 or recently?
The only thing wrong with this song...is it should have been cut as a single RIGHT after "You can do magic" came out in 1982. For all who don't know, both songs came off the "Veiw from the ground" and could have REALLY boosted their comeback back then. "Sometimes Lovers" would have worked also as a single;)
Yes, there are slight Mumy moves especially when Gerry looks to right and then to the left. Not so much the foot tapping, which reminds me of Gerry. Bill taps, but just does it a little differently. Gerry's smile is not the same either, because a smile seems to be something that is unique. Maybe it's just the way Gerry tilts his head when he turns to look on the side.
It's cool how Bill is writing so many songs.
I like "Overdue" the best of all I've heard so far.
Lyrics are a little repetitive but it has such a neat groove from start to finish.

Have been an America fan from the get-go -- love this song -- both Gerry and Dewey still have the chops for songwriting!

saw them do this tune in '98 and around '02 and singing was really good. Here, not so much. Nevertheless, this song is awesome.

Bill Mumy was half of a great band called Barnes and Barnes for many years. They should have been huge.

Don't worry, I won't. That was just a disclaimer just in case. This was filmed on the Fourth of July this year (2007).

Classic song, great video and excellent sound & acoustics. Great job, Susanne! Subtle Mumy moves, really?

I gotcha. I'll check out the moves sometime. But Dewey & Rich seem to have the moves down, and choreoraphed so well!
Jen2024 4 years ago
Yes, I noticed that. Dewey & Rich look very synchronized.

I really love the words and music of this song a lot! I think I see some subtle Mumy moves in this video.

They're TOO good! And that Bill Mumy really knows how to co-write songs! Man oh man...
