I enjoyed playing F.3.A.R. but it lacked the scariness it had in the first 2 games. It had a lot of story development and progression but they didn't use Alma as much as they should have like the other games. I didn't find the Creep that scary either except when it randomly attacked you in the in the 8th Interval. Hopefully they will release some DLC with a much scarier campaign.

The only F.E.A.R. I will ever accept as next game in the series is from MONOLITH! F.E.A.R. and PROJECT ORIGIN are FOR NOW! only 2 games that I will ever accept into the FEAR universum. The other ones (Extraction point, Perseus Mandate and F.3.A.R.) are just something to kill time with while I am waiting for the real one!

I've Played FE.A.R. 1, Perseus (have yet to try out extraction), and F.E.A.R. 2. I definitely think the first F.E.A.R. is the best in the series, F.E.A.R. 3 is a close second since Day 1 Studios went back to the roots of the original game with more psychological horror, and on top of that, randomized the scare system so no two scares are the same, unless you've died like 75 times in the same spot. Plus, they worked on the console ports of F.E.A.R. 1.

You could not be more wrong about Fear 3. Fear 3 was not scary, every scare was predictable, the story is nether explained or has continuity with the previous titles, Fear 3 should have began after Extraction, should have incorporated every dark being from the 1, the expansions and 2.Day 1 studios completely fucked up the entire story with their awful monsters, none random baddies, terrible story they couldn't write themselves. The weapons, gameplay and everything was not FEAR

Monolith had gotten FEAR 3 taken away from them just like many of the original team got taken out of 2. I finished both parts - FEAR1 and FEAR2 - twice. in my opinion, F.E.A.R. 1 is by far better ... the way they simulated the story and the "psycho scenes" were simply superior. unbelieveable amazing. I started F.E.A.R.1 again today ... because I simply cant get enough of the story.

FEAR2 is also great in my opinion but without paxton fettel - it´s simply not the same (tho he appeared in the FEAR2 DLC "REBORN"). also, there were hardly "psycho scenes" in FEAR2 but many "shock" moments instead

@3O2MuStAnG Fear two just didn't have the same element that the first one did. . . and now with the whole buddy cop system of Fettel and Point Man in a cheesy action role I only pray that whoever makes the next sequel (if there is one) brings the story back on course and declared that non canon. I STILL play FEAR 1 and STILL get chills from it, it is one of the best single player experiences I've had.

What I hate the most is the 10 and under kids that parents let swarm Xbox Live nowadays. I mentioned FEAR online and how much I loved it, about how scary it is, an I got swarmed with a lot of people telling me "the graphics suck; Gears and Dead Space are much scarier".

Yeah first time on DS you get killed is scary, but after several times it's just overdone gore and really irritating and stupid. FEAR stills scares me cause of the unpredictability.
