  • kick ass song -- way way ahead of it's time (1983) -- I have this on VHS off MTV's 120 minutes.

  • ..I like the original..but I gotta give props to Gnarles Barkley for a hot ass rendition...better music also....

  • @robwheelut yes cee lo is so much better than the violent femmes. If only we had all grown up listening to gnarls barkley instead of the femmes my my what a better world it would be

  • A lot better than seeing porno bugs crawl up some lady's underwear.

  • Why I love this song... in two words: Xylophone Solo. !!! X-D Rawk on, man!

  • gnarls barkely is better

  • @MrTrickBike

    you are an idiot

  • I swear his face is saying he's going to F*%k me senseless...

  • Only 75711 views for this instant classic? I live in a wrong world

  • 2:28...those sailors will hit ANYTHING

  • The song rocks. And takes about 30 years off my age.

  • i cant believe this from the 80s and not a song from the 90s.

  • Brian Ritchie is so damn good-looking with no hair.

  • woah. i thought brian ritchie was born with long hair

  • I heard the Femmes once or twice, that all they got?

  • Ahhh summer of 83 the punk scene in LA was alive and well.....

  • love this song

  • 1983????????????

  • @MrShitcakes69 1983 - Yes. I saw them at the Ripley Music Hall in Philadelphia in 1985. I was able to sit at the bar and watch the show. Not too many attended. So cool to see a band without a crowd of idiots.

  • @MrShitcakes69

Yeah, actually it was released in very lat 1982 and this video was on the Rockamerica, July 1983 video tape. When Alternative Music became Mainstream AOR Rock in the 1990's, Blister in the Sun got a video in 1997 for the 'Mainstream' series. Funny how culture changes.

I saw these guys at the old 9:30 in DC in 1984. Second show, awesome set.

  • 1:41-1:44

    BEST. GUITAR. SOLO. EVER!!!

  • Quite the song to listen to when you're drunk.

  • What! I thought this was a Gnarls Barkley original....fantastic- a new artist to explore!

  • this beat is just too catchy

  • Gnarls Barkley is a twat. He may have drawn people to listen to this but his version was poor. And he's a twat.

  • @Rodan100 GNARLS BARKLEY IS CEE LO GREEN AND DJ DANGERMOUSE WHICH IS TWO PEOPLE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU DENSE FUCKER

  • @WhyAmIHere260 He could be the fucking Archdeacon of super for all I or any fucker else cares. His version still sucks arse. Run along now. Oh and happy christmas.

  • The lead singer looks like Eric from That 70s Show :)

  • 1:53 ahhh the 80's. The time where seizures were more common. :D

  • mash potatoes and gravy nom nom nom

    put some peas in it

    nice and fresh

  • :)

  • I'm not so sure now. But I could xyplophone al the up to about 1:16 WAY back as a teenager. But I have not stood in front of a xylophone it 15 years

  • It is nice when you make a song that is so good that people copy it, not just re-mix it, but nearly an exact copy, 20+ years later.

  • i rode on a bus yesterday

  • it took me forever to forgive gnarls barkley for ripping off this song. yes, "ripped" is the correct term. a cover is when an act re-envisions a song...gnarls does an impression.

  • 0 Dislikes... *drops shotgun*

  • A xylophone solo.... epic.

  • This band had a major affect on my life circa 1984, My god I just realized how much hold on my life she still has. I would take her back instantly. I AM SO LAME

  • One of the best bands ever. Their first album came out a few years after I got out of H.S. Love blister in the sun.

  • Can't stop singin' it!

  • Original is always the BEST!

  • it's a xylophone *part*...ahem...

  • thumbs up for the xylophone solo

  • I think that's a vibraphone, @AJtheamazing1. (Just from the reflection on the keys, it's looks like metal instead of wood.) But I agree it's pretty dope.

  • What?!?!? Gnarles covered this bit?.....#swag. Both versions are fye, lol.

  • The Needle Drop.

  • @1CannibalCorpse2 Who cares?!

  • One of my personal favorite albums.

  • amazing song. :D

  • totally brilliant original band, weird as fook!!

  • It is like a new version of Doors. Love this sound

  • nice song. first time hearing it.

  • i think I like this version better than the Gnarls Barkley version

  • @rexelliz it's not just better... It's also original from 1983 :)))

  • @AverageDood ur awesome. I was only 2 and I knew that =) but everyone thinks that they came out with my so called life!

  • @rexelliz No version. This is the original!!

  • I only come here to see the sexual frustration shots.

*I give the gift of knowledge that all big rolling stones songs were of frustration.*

When the femmes came around, frustration had a new meaning & context.

and there were people adding it up all over the world- especially the women.

  • dig this tune and this band!

  • Gone is anyone caring about real artist videos these days. I still LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

  • pure!

  • As American, must vote this over X-Ray Spex...

  • Finally...dreaming of this night and day...my one true goal, the highest mark!
