(Kovalchuk is a Ukrainian name [they pronounce it "Ko-vy-el-tchook"], tho I know he is from Russia). MANY Russians have slight (or more so) "Asian" features. (Let us not forget the land mass *is* Asia)

@oehieze Most of Russia is located in Asia, so it is entirely possible that one of his parents is 'Asian'. I've met some Kazaks that look Oriental, as well as some distant relatives of mine that were born in eastern Russia that look Oriental.

@yargatathank Yes Russia is located in asia but the kazaks youve must have met had to be of turkish descent or as we call it tatar, which are turkish mongol people, kind of like the native americans in north america but different of course but the true Russian are from Western Russia in St. Petersburg specifically, i got some of this information from my parents who were from Kursk then moved to Moscow.

Kovalev is a natural scorer at his age of 36 he is still able to play on top 2 lines and put up a 25 goals or more season. He is the most gifted player in the league at puck-handeling, sure Ovechkin is good as 50 or more goal scorer but he isnt a natural deaker he puts effort into it, But for Kovalev its natural.

we'll puck handling is a weird one to judge because theres so much things you migh have to consider. But i think Kovy has the fastest hands though and i disagree with you i think kovys goals are nicer, simple shoot, dont see the puck, the buzzers on!
