Great video and ditty. Used it for a class I was taking online. Tune drove everyone crazy, but they remembered the message. Great job! Had to hear it again.

Nothing is free. Even if you are going into a place where you could go on line without paying a fee, someone else is still paying the access fees. Most of the time it ends up being a taxpayer as most places with free access are libraries and the like, but even if you were to use one of the new NDS web browsers or a PSP for surfing, there was the initial payments of those products.
I agree, nothing in this world is for free... but it's like in AI. They will charge you for information. That sux! I support the net neutrality thing completely.
It's fugged up to think people will charge us EXTRA when most of the world is dirt poor... :(
Where the fug do those ppl think money comes from?! It's people's hard earned pay from living life working the whole time.
Tim Berners-Lee ivented the web (Cerf invented the net), i doubt he will stand back and watch it slip into the governments greedy hands especially since he's head of W3C
True Roschler, and I already emailed and called me congresspeople thru SaveTheInternet.com months ago. I honestly think this is a battle between the Telco's and Google..they've been buying up 'Dark Fiber' for years now and that proly makes AT&T very very nervous.
@I did the same. Google's buying up "Dark Fiber" and the Telco's are buying up "Dark Lobbyists". Will Google's Fiber help clean the crap out of the Lobbyists? Only Darth Metamucil knows for sure! :)
Agreed, but then again IMHO Congress should pass a law that Lobbyists entering DC should be shot on sight.
Honestly, yes people need to react and call their representives. But this issue is so socially stupid it's on par with Prohibition. If it actually passes, it'll be repealed in 6 months, and hacked in only 3 months, max. It would piss off the entire planet, we are still(barely) the biggest Net hub
Great clip..But I laff every time Congress thinks it has the power to regulate the Net. I'm sorry Congress-folks, but..you don't..hehe..Look at China and their vast censorship attempts..and the massive holes people blow in it every day.
@EricJaffa, thanks for that. I've updated the video link to point to that web page. I did submit this video to STI, but for some reason they never posted it on the site.
@Vincent1999, the animation footage is part of the open source "Elephants Dream" project. Visit this site and download the high definition version, it's better than Pixar!: http://www.elephantsdream.org/
Keep the net free.

I say that if you want to pay more for faster service, it is your business and not that of the governments or even your fellow human beings.

Yes, your price should be the speed you get and it should be uniform, so you can browse at the speed you pay for on any website you want

But there's a problem. It's these individuals who want to charge extra for their website - so what could he do, just cuz he invented the net? :(
I don't think it's that simple, though I wish it was.
I think this guy isn't in a position to do anything about it!

I don't know what's better, the message or the fact that you used an open-sourced movie to convey it.

My advice is to take out the text about Al Gore.
Many people concerned about Net Neutrality like Al Gore and think he got a raw deal when he was misquoted as saying he invented the internet.
EricJaffa 5 years ago
please tell me WHY WHY WHY did Al Gore EVER say that he invented the internet...

Good question! :) He's latest movie proves he's a smart man who cares about the planet, but that quote, wow!
