her aunty used to work with my mum on blandford camp she came into her work soon after she had the op nd the ppl at mums work raised money for her i was there too
She had meningitis and lost both legs. Her dad is currently risking his life as a secuirty guard in Basra to extend their house so her wheelchair fits in when she has further ops on her legs. She had not seen her dad for months, then they said, if you look at the camera and wave and say hello daddy, he will be able to see you because he has TV in baghdad, so she did, and a voice said hello lydia, and he popped out behind her frm backstage...she was stunned and rushed to hug him.
OMG! I cried for ageeees when her Dad came out. It was funny to see her confused sister in the audience pointing saying "that's daddy!" Made me cry even more!
