peak oil means that rich countries who based their entire economy on this energy source will have big problems to deal with, as proven by the july 2008 crisis. the planet has energy to boot it depends on how much and what kind of energy you need that will move economies in the futur. maybe we will all have to retrack and get down to basics instead of waste so much energy.

I believe that population control is a necessity. I think the way to do it is by controlling births. I am afraid that the prevailing notion is to wipe us out with war, pestilence, plague and poisoned foods.
Opposition to birth control is the biggest enemy to the enviroment, to disease control, to health, and to progress.
Let's make sure it is by birth control, and not by wholesale killing, through WMD.

Okay most of the time I'm with Alex Jones but on this issue he's off base. It is a DAMN GOOD IDEA TO REDUCE THE POPULATION BECAUSE THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE FOR THE PLANET TO SUSTAIN ALREADY, overpopulation is the underlying reason for many of our problems. The Chinese were headed for disaster but wisely turned their culture around. There's no need to murder people just reward/punish responsible reproduction = 1 child and the population will balance out nicely in a couple of generations.
