When I was little, every christmas my father would pay the local radio station to play Lynn Andersons' Christmas album as advertising for his shop. We would gather around the tree and listen to her sing christmas songs and the disc jockey would talk about the shop and the family between songs. Now when I hear these songs it takes me back to those wonderful christmas' we shared together.....PRICELESS
every christmas as a kid, this is what we had to listen to first to start trimming the tree, part of my childhood, and life forever, great quality thanx for doing this
I heard this for the first time ever last year on my iPod, not realizing I had put it on there. I like Lynn Anderson music at only 21 years old. I love this song, thank you for posting.
Bless you for posting this...one my best memories as a child at Christmas. My mom loved Lynn Anderson and I grew to love her even more...thank you thank you!!
Thanks for posting this song!!! I'm in the process of putting my Christmas LP's on CD and when I went to play my Lynn Anderson LP, it is warped and I couldn't get this song to play right. I've got software that allows me to record, so I recorded this one and I hope the rest of the album plays okay!!!
I never knew Lynn Anderson had even done this song until I heard it on the radio Christmas Day...Thank you for posting this...now I can listen to it on YouTube.
I grew up with this album, my mom still has it on vinyl, and I paid a pretty penny for the CD on EBay and it was worth it. It takes me back to my childhood and it's one of my all time favorites.
I'm with all of you, this is my favorite Christmas songs. It's not Christmas until I hear this song. I make my girls listen to it every time it comes on.
I have this cd and it is a family favorite. I have put this on my g/kids cd to sing along to in the car... it's their favorite, too, and they know all the words....
I think it would be cute if they made a little movie based on this song. You know, like they did with Rudolph, Frosty, and now even Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer is a cartoon movie on cartoon network!
My Dad had this album, we used to listen to it every year, secially x-mas eve, with the lights out and the christmas tree lights blinking and the fire place going. My favorite memories of him! Thank you for the tears!
this is not diddy it's his mom--i am 40 yrs old, i grew up listening to this 8 track tape --it would not have been Christmas without it!! i agree it needs to brought back on a cd!! (akohler17) my dad did the exact same thing!!
i have been trying to get this album for years and years... grew up with it as a kid. someone needs to reproduce it on CD and make it available for sale again... beautiful for the kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you for this (from the sunny caribbean)
I have been looking for this song for ages and could not remember who sang it. Thanks to who ever put this on YOU TUBE. (however, I can't seem to pull it up to listen to it).
I have the original vinyl record. The posters commenting on radio not playing these classic country Christmas songs are correct. Country radio has forgotten its founder Goerge D Hay and WSM 650 AM. WSM has two of the longest running radio shows in history. 1: The Grand Ole Opry and Ernest Tubbs Midnight Jamboree. Try ti tune in to 650 on your AM radio dial on saturday night.
Thank you so much. I looked for this earlier and couldn't find it. My grandma had this album and we would play this song over and over. Thank you for the good memories with her.
Thank you for sahring this song...It's been a favorite of mine for 35 years and a favorite of my mothers for many years as well...It brings back sweet Christmas memories!!!!
As far back as I can remember Christmas started at 7 a.m. with my grandfather putting Lynn Anderson's Christmas album on the turn table and turning the volume all the way up. Everyone would jump up out of their beds and race down the stairs and the mayhem of opening gifts would begin by the time the first song (ding-a-ling) was over. Now I'm grown and have a family of my own I've kept the tradition alive even though my daughter is only 1(I do it more for myself since I can't be with my family)
I remember my mother getting this song on a box of cherrios as a premotional item. Kind of a wierd place to find a christmas song....it became one of my mothers favorites. It brings back alot of memories....thankyou!
Thank you for this song! I remember her songs from my childhood. Do you have the entire album of Lynn Anderson the Christmas album? I cannot find her songs anywhere. If so, could you please post them for us to enjoy? We would all appreciate it sooooo much! Thanks again!
i'd love to post that album, but i actually downloaded this song, and after searching for the other songs on her christmas album, i was unable to find any. =[
