I get the impression that the greatest danger to the "Space Branch" of the US Navy isn't aliens or pirates.....but bureaucratic procedures! I'm surprised there isn't a "you must inform the target that you will use deadly force, and do not do so until target acknowledging or ignoring has been ascertained."
I am laughing so hard right now! My husband is currently underway & I actually understand what these characters are talking about! Especially following proper procedure and the use of deadly force - when he came home with a little laminated card that said when to use deadly force I actually was in awe & asked, "Are you actually supposed to read all this tiny print if someone is about to attack you or the boat before you shoot them?!" He explained & I get it now. Thought it was just a bit odd.
Navalairforce did not go through what the submarine force went through during WWII. (The highest death percentage in the entire armed forces...18%) Higher than the army, marines, and air force. I walked past the memorial every time i got beer in the navy...sorry.
You know you guys are becoming a cult classic for submariners...everyone over here in Yokosuka at Sub Group Seven is loving it, thanks for your hard work!
They definitely helped MY watches down in the CSG7 BCA go by a few minutes quicker. Its amazing how time is no longer linear once you've assumed the watch.
