@LinkHoward Naruto the first series was ok. It never really developed until Shippuden in my opinion. The story has become so much more deep in Shippuden. That aside, the entire story is amazing. Without the first series Shippuden wouldn't be as good as it is.

@AstralAbraxas I wouldn't say it "deep". It's like the author just doing whatever he wants to keep the manga alive, not to make it interesting. Boom, a villain die. Boom, another one appear. Boom, another one just got revived. Boom, a secret plan. Blah blah blah. Battle scene isn't as detailed as in part 1. Just a lot of nukes. In part 1, what one feels and thinks can took a whole chapter. In shippuden just some pages, or even panels. Well, that's my opinion...

@LinkHoward In the first series it was on and on and on about the same thing for the whole series. By the sounds of it you see that as a good quality. However I don't. Perhaps it had more of an "adventurous" feeling to it but in terms of the quality of the story I don't think it was better at all. It never felt like the story started developing into anything meaningful until Shippuden. You are entitled to your opinion but I just can't agree with it.

I love the anime, the music, everything about it. However this wouldn't make me cry. Not because I don't understand loneliness - don't give me that, I live in my own body, so I know - but maybe becuase I've seen so much more. For those of you looking to expand your emotional anime horizions and aren't afraid of new things, try Kara No Kyoukai, FLCL or Fooly Cooly, or Elfin Lied.

Naruto and Naruto Shippuden (or Shipuuden... or Shippuuden) is one completely and absolutely amazing anime/manga.

The characters all represent different struggles of life: the ability to bouce back after everything, a ultimate obsession for something that isn't quite healthy, people who think they are doing the right thing... but maybe aren't, and so on.

This is my opinion.

You're absolutely right.. I have never considered Naruto as an usual hmm cartoon? as many people do. My life wasn't always fairylike. That amazing manga changed my view on the world which surrounds me and I'm really glad that couple years ago I started to read it. Many times it made my cry because of its beautiful background and the most important because of the life truths contained there. We can't only treat things superficially, we should try to find and understand the deeper sense. Regards

And considering Anime I would say that there are those that are certainly for the younger folks out there, but there are also Anime that are clearly not made for young ones (Afro Samurai e.g.). It certainly differs on what you're watching. Naruto has a well developed story, one that's been childish and changed to being really mature.

I kind of like how the plot is though, I mean, the betrayal of a friend is arbitrary in anime nowadays but I haven't seen it in a hot minute and DEFINITELY not like the Sasuke/ Naruto one. I mean there are little things that people who don't pay attention don't get. For instance, Itachi dying of illness at the same time Sasuke used Kirin, making it look like Kirin fataly wounded him. If you pay attention he was barely harmed. The little things count.
