The truth of the matter is, in normal daily driving one cannot notice if a car is FWD or RWD. Only when you really try to push it through the bends, or redline it will you see and feel the difference and let's face it, this is a sporty/ luxury family saloon, not a track car.

ACURA MUST REMAKE IT!

Yea I know for a fact that new TL has poor sales especially in the 20-35 year old age range. I know the owner of a dealership and that is what I am hearing is the case all across the country. Look for a remodel in 2 years.
The IS is still more responsive than the TL, it's faster, and it's rear wheel drive. You stick sports shift which makes it half decent. The TL is terrible and the new model is just a joke. Acura is totally failing right now.
I totally agree that TL is going in a terrible direction and that the IS is better, however, you call the IS an enthusiasts car? Are you trying to be funny? The 2.5L is a joke, can barely get any wheelspin with its little power. The steering is obviously numb compared to its competitors. No manual for their more powerful 350 model.
IS350 is still a great car, driving enthusiast however have better alternatives unless they want to be spoiled in luxury and technology (not rly enthusiast then)
The only bad thing about this car is FWD...other than that they are pretty decent. 6-speed manual will put close to 250whp stock. That's more like 30+ hp increase over the base TL's which do about 200-210whp. A good driver can break into the 13's. Too bad they messed up on the 09 as far as looks goes...Hopefully they'll make up for it with the future Type-S.

Yes - brakes, suspension, and engine. Maybe Brembos are expensive to maintain, but you always pay a steep price for performance, don't you? And yes, I also think the IS350 would beat this (and is probably an all around better car), you can't exactly call the TL-S a "weak" car.
Yea it is a "weaker" car. The styling is great but Acura needs to step up their game and give car enthusiasts what they want and they could do that with high performance awd.
The IS is much smaller, more expensive when similarly equipped, the IS350 only comes in auto (decidely un sporty), and when put on the Streets of Willow with the same driver, the TL-S actually lapped several seconds faster.

The G35 isn't thousands cheaper, you are comparing a loaded Acura price to a base Infiniti price. Once you add the navi package and technology package to the G35, it's pushing $40k, if not over it. I have a TL-S, I paid $33k for it brand new, you can't even touch a base G35 for that with no options.

Only problem with this car is that it's FWD....

The TL Type-S has an optional 6-speed manual transmission. Both the base model and the Type-S are FWD cars.

Its a SOHC V6 not DOHC V6. Honda nor Acura dont make DOHC V6's as of now. The only DOHC 6cylinder made by Honda was present in the NSX.
