OK if u have perfect vision. Android sucks for the visually impaired folks. If you wear glasses buy iphone or BB. You will be able to read the screen without having to reach for glasses 100 times a day.ALL android phones have TINY TINY text and no way to enlarge it. iphone & BB care about the visually impaired & allow system wide font size large/exlarge etc, Android don't give a rat's ass for the visually impaired Complaints for 2 years fall on death ears, Google research it. I wouldn't say the nexus one is a better phone for the sole reason because of the inconsistent multitouch of the nexus one. However, android as a whole is better and the Samsung Galaxy S is something I would consider truly better than the iPhone.

Every point made in this video is now moot, the iPhone 4 does all this and more. Not to mention will have HDR photography soon. Android 2.2 is still great, but iPhone 4 is a beast.

@Mensahwatts I wouldn't worry. Apple will again triumph on top by releasing some iPhone 5 that beats all other smart phones on the market. Apple is basically leading the smartphone market in innovation. Before iPhone, the market was nothing like this and Apple will continue to make break throughs and other companies will follow.
@TheBestOne98 while they could do something big with the iphone...Android is not slowing down-many iphone people are going Android-why? Cause they can do more on Android beyound itunes-which is a pretty cool option on ios...but even that will be changed once Google music comes out. While I do agree with you ios and Apple does do things where people follow-but now Android...is pulling ahead and not stopping...all it takes is a Google search

It's a shame Google canned this phone only after 6 months of being out... Especially since people who are under contract are stuck with the phone for another 1-1/2 years.. OR the people who paid over 500.00 dollars. i wonder when the OS updates stop?? 2-3 more months?
The only reason iPhone now multi-tasks is because iOS 4, that barely came out three days ago! While the Nexus One and many other phones had been having it since they came out! I am writing this on my iPod touch 3G and I like the Nexus one more than iPhone 4, but I won't miss anything since iPod touch is the same thing as iPhone, so I get all the goodies like the 200,000 apps
news flash to the world! the new iphone is not the iphone 4G. surprise surprise its the iphone 4! why might this be? oh yes no 4G connection... not that the N1 has it either... so stop wasting that extra letter for apple and use the right name! as far as the N1 is concerned it is still at the top of the pack with the evo 4g and the incredible (only real difference is the cam) i just placed my order, N1 should be here by friday, i can't wait to show up my iphone friends!

It's interesting, how 3 years ago all phones were either flip-phones, dumbphones or had tiny screens. Apple comes out with iPhone and all manufacturers rush to get their "me too" products on the market. All now "invent" their own app stores, flik scrolling, pinch zooming etc.
I agree that HTC Evo is a great phone, but keep in mind the fact that the reason it exsists, is because of iPhone. It set the bar. If there was no iPhone, who knows when these great devices would come out.

Let's see: My iPhone has NEVER had to wait for the GPS. Just saying.
But the GPS you just demoed does the exact same my iPhone does because the iPhone gives you directions, it shows you where you arrive (oOo) and it's faster.
When you say that it doesn't multitask at all, that's a lie, because it can play music in the background. That's multitasking. It doesn't have 3rd party multitasking (yet.)

Google Maps GPS also shows you street view when you arrive and I believe it is now, finally available on iPhone. My point was that it was built in and you don't have to pay the steep App price for it.
I have iPhone software 4.0 Beta 3 (as an app developer i have access to beta) and iPhone multitasks just fine. The thing though, i don't need that option that much, i use it very rarely, more for the fast-app-switch, rather than multitasking :)
Also, you can get tons of GPS apps for iPhone with voice guided navigation (turn-by-turn).
@DiceExpress17 the current iPhones only let you "multitask" with the iPod music playing. Try streaming music and doing anything else. You can't. Not even text messageing while streaming, or playing a game, etc. On Android and other smart phones (Blackberries, Nokias, etc.) you can.
You see, this is INSIDE a building. At a place where your iPhone would NEVER get a GPS signal at all, but the Nexus One does.
Outside, of course, the Nexus One gets the GPS fix a lot faster than the iPhone as well and even when you're using the iPhone with the special TomTom car kit, it's still slower than the Nexus One at getting the GPS fix.

@BBstorm00 Yes, but have you seen pictures and videos iPhone4 produces VS HTC ones? I have a 10MP Lumix camera, whihc i don't even use anymore, because iPhone produces absolutely amazing shots, and with HDR option some of the pictures turn out even better than pictures taken by cameras that cost as much as the iPhone with no contract.
I am not trying to say "what Steve said", but he was right. It's not about megapixels, it's about results, and iPhone delivers.
But for camera, look at Sony Ericsson.. Their Xperia X10 which I was more refering to has a 8.1 MP Camera with Continous auto-focus, records in HD 720p... the camera optics are very good for a phone... Or non-Android phones: The Nokia N8 has probably the best camera optics on the market at the moment, the camera has a 12 mp camera with Xenon Flash..
@feralkuriboh I never said Google maps had offline maps.. I said that HTC is bundling another app with support for offline maps along with Google maps on their new Desire Z and HD...
Also, almost all Androids lets you access the battery, so if you'd like to carry a second battery and switch when one runs dry, that's fine.. for me, charging over the night every day is enough since the battery lasts for the day.. Android also has an easy way of managing running apps to save battery usage..
You seem very enthused with your N1, you should definitely check out the Cyanogen roms; if you like options, that will certainly open up an even larger world of options. The power of Android lies in the fact that everyone can contribute, and the developer community is growing by the second. Apple's products might be pretty and functional, but if they continue to work as a closed platform, they will soon be a thing of the past.

I can do everything you said on my jailbroken iPhone 3G (Not 3GS) except for 5 megpixel camera and camera flash I can multiltask from it's from Cydia and it's called ProSwitcher and I can do voice search it's all from Cydia and built in GPS navigation I can get that for free from instalous I have the tomtom I don't know which one is better

kind of the same....the Desire has the Hero style formatting, aka Sense UI...the Nexus has just Android 2.1 on stock however, u can root the Nexus and give it Sense UI, and it is amazingly fast!! absolutely stunning!
you say the iphone doesn't have voice input which isn't true the 3Gs does but is not as open as nexus. built-in gps navigation can be achieved via google maps out the box but no turn by turn voice directions.

It's interesting, how 3 years ago all phones were either flip-phones, dumbphones or had tiny screens. Apple comes out with iPhone and all manufacturers rush to get their "me too" products on the market. All now "invent" their own app stores, flik scrolling, pinch zooming etc.
I agree that HTC Evo is a great phone, but keep in mind the fact that the reason it exsists, is because of iPhone. It set the bar. If there was no iPhone, who knows when these great devices would come out.

Let's see: My iPhone has NEVER had to wait for the GPS. Just saying.
But the GPS you just demoed does the exact same my iPhone does because the iPhone gives you directions, it shows you where you arrive (oOo) and it's faster.
When you say that it doesn't multitask at all, that's a lie, because it can play music in the background. That's multitasking. It doesn't have 3rd party multitasking (yet.)

Google Maps GPS also shows you street view when you arrive and I believe it is now, finally available on iPhone. My point was that it was built in and you don't have to pay the steep App price for it.

I have iPhone software 4.0 Beta 3 (as an app developer i have access to beta) and iPhone multitasks just fine. The thing though, i don't need that option that much, i use it very rarely, more for the fast-app-switch, rather than multitasking :)
Also, you can get tons of GPS apps for iPhone with voice guided navigation (turn-by-turn).

@DiceExpress17 the current iPhones only let you "multitask" with the iPod music playing. Try streaming music and doing anything else. You can't. Not even text messageing while streaming, or playing a game, etc. On Android and other smart phones (Blackberries, Nokias, etc.) you can.

You see, this is INSIDE a building. At a place where your iPhone would NEVER get a GPS signal at all, but the Nexus One does.
Outside, of course, the Nexus One gets the GPS fix a lot faster than the iPhone as well and even when you're using the iPhone with the special TomTom car kit, it's still slower than the Nexus One at getting the GPS fix.

- Apple just bought Siri, so we'll see who's better at voice recognition
- iPhone has GPS too. Google's GPS uses dataplan, iPhone has paid apps (turnbyturn) that has maps in the app itself.

I seriously can't give Apple any credit for taking 6 months to catch up on the hardware side, while still leaving A LOT to be desired on the software side.
Still no real multitasking, still no customization, still no information on my homescreen, still can't handle notifications, still AppStore-policies that suck... still not competitive.

@BBstorm00 Yes, but have you seen pictures and videos iPhone4 produces VS HTC ones? I have a 10MP Lumix camera, whihc i don't even use anymore, because iPhone produces absolutely amazing shots, and with HDR option some of the pictures turn out even better than pictures taken by cameras that cost as much as the iPhone with no contract.
I am not trying to say "what Steve said", but he was right. It's not about megapixels, it's about results, and iPhone delivers.

It's called iPhone 4, not 4G, it isn't even capable of what you call 4G...
- Camera is rather nice, but there are Androids that beat it
- Still no voice recognition on iPhone that I know of..
- Android does also have PAID apps for dat too, HTC Desire Z and HD comes bundled with with an service for offline maps PLUS Google's own...
- Android has been able to multitask from the begining, and it's very easy to switch between
- Android may not have as many apps, but the ones it have is all I want..

- Camera on iPhone is only 5mp, but it shoots better pictures and video than EVO, Dezire, Droid X etc.
- There is. For voice dialing, music switching. Out of the box. But there is Google Voice and third party apps (even for dictation).
- Google's maps are not offline on any device. Offline maps are available on all platforms
- Implementation what matters when it comes to m-tasking. Did i mention battery life?

But for camera, look at Sony Ericsson.. Their Xperia X10 which I was more refering to has a 8.1 MP Camera with Continous auto-focus, records in HD 720p... the camera optics are very good for a phone... Or non-Android phones: The Nokia N8 has probably the best camera optics on the market at the moment, the camera has a 12 mp camera with Xenon Flash..

@feralkuriboh I never said Google maps had offline maps.. I said that HTC is bundling another app with support for offline maps along with Google maps on their new Desire Z and HD...
Also, almost all Androids lets you access the battery, so if you'd like to carry a second battery and switch when one runs dry, that's fine.. for me, charging over the night every day is enough since the battery lasts for the day.. Android also has an easy way of managing running apps to save battery usage..

The power of Android lies in the fact that everyone can contribute, and the developer community is growing by the second. Sorry, but you dont know an Iphone 3gs with JB. First, Nexus one is a NEW Phone. You compare 2 phones of diferent year. Second, Take a Picture with Nexus One with bad Light and Take it Latter with Iphone and compare the photos on a PC (5MP?? i prefer quality of a 3.2mp of Iphone).Iphone, is multitasking phone, only not permit have USER Programs at the same time!!!. I can do everything you said on my jailbroken iPhone 3G (Not 3GS) except for 5 megpixel camera and camera flash I can multiltask from it's from Cydia and it's called ProSwitcher and I can do voice search it's all from Cydia and built in GPS navigation I can get that for free from instalous I have the tomtom I don't know which one is better
But can you download apps to the sd card because I have 100 apps on my iPhone and soon it's going to be 300 512 mb of apps is not enough for me

you say the iphone doesn't have voice input which isn't true the 3Gs does but is not as open as nexus. built-in gps navigation can be achieved via google maps out the box but no turn by turn voice directions.
