  • Again an oustanding performance of the band, one of the best I heard of The end. I hear a lot of laments in this rich bluesy southern voice.

What a great authentic graceful man, if only he had more time, what a loss, sad.

  • The band is good.

  • cool beans

  • What was Robbie on???

  • Woke up this morning with the crossroads on my mind.

  • Thank you for sharing that rare footage "MrMojoRisinn"

  • The Fuckin' BLUES OF THE DOORS !!!!

  • sounds to me like hes telling us about going to paris and vanishing. "cross the sea" , "hurts to set u free" , "never follow me" , "the night we tried to die". "this is the end". hope hes still around that would be badass.

  • kinda sounds like hes telling us about going to paris and "disapeering" . "Ride with me, cross the sea" (Paris). "Hurts to set you free", "you'll never follow me." ,"the nights we tried to die".????????????? somebody elaborate all that for me?

  • Part of this song from this performance is in When You're Strange. This Doors show deserves to be on DVD.

  • Life times ahead of any band that comes even close..............

  • this video and a talk with a stranger solved my crucial soul! i have something for live again!

  • The Doors:-)

  • Geeze, could the producers of this film fuck it up any worse. Just film the performance guys.

  • John Densmore was extraordinary.

  • This version and the video is great thanks!

  • Is there any official word about how much of the concert was recorded and are there plans to release this as a DVD.

  • this is on dvd go to amozon

  • full circle and other voices are cool albums

  • AWESOME VIDEO. Can anyone tell me the name of the song in the movie, "The Doors"...where Morrison is dancing with the Native American spirits on stage? What is the name of that particular song??? Its haunting me.

  • I believe you're talking about "Five to one"

  • Not to touch the earth.... my favorite next to the end

  • Not To Touch The Earth

  • does any one have break on thru live at the isle of white?

  • Amazing!

Really haunting performance of one of the best songs...!

This one's immortal. Peace and thanx to The Doors!

  • Strangers hand!

Your One And Only Is out there u have not met them yet so there a stranger..:P

  • peace bro

  • They released two albums without Jim. "Other Voices" and "Full Circle" I have them both and they both suck hard.

When Full Circle came out, my friends and I hated it so much we called it 'Full Circle Jerk'

  • Haha so true... xD

  • I thought "Other Voices" was OK - although it does play like a collection of "B" Sides.

I never bothered with "Full Circle": I don't I everr heard one good thing about it from any one.

  • @kodiakfred140 Interesting that Robby wrote at least a half dozen of The Door's hits

-but not a single hit post-Jimbo.

I got copies of both Other Voices and Circle Jerk in 1983

-my brother bought them in Mexico, you couldn't get them in the USA by that point.

  • loool sure yu right man

  • the best..mmrmojo

  • Actually, the surviving Members released at least one album after Jim left. It was called The Doors Other Voices, and as I remember, ti was nothing like The Doors with Jim! And were ever Jim's gone, I doubt he's resting!

  • Sem duvida, a melhor banda rock de sempre...

  • The BEST performance I've ever seen of The Doors!

  • This is actually the end sad but true he's gone

    R.I.P jim

  • It's a love song.

  • the subject is "the end", not "SHE"...try to read in this way!!!!cheers!! :-)

    (yes,originally was a love song)

  • Holy shit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Doors celebrity focuses too much on jim morrison, the lyrics and his personality but you see here they were a great band, the music is great and their improvisation skills are remarkable

  • He was the Doors man, even though the other 3 were just as good of musicians, they didn't give everyone the experince that Jim would.

    r.i.p.

    12/8/43 - 7/3/71

  • @jordanmacintosh702 The Doors are not The Doors without Jimbo.

On the other hand, The Doors music would not have sounded

as great without those 3 unique musicians.

Oh, and Robby Krieger wrote at least half a dozen of their hits.

  • @jordanmacintosh702 Are u sure about 7/3/71?

    I'd write it

    12/8/43-???

  • @AristYdes the thing that impresses me the most about the band is the incredible ability that Ray has...just mindblowing, bass-organ is just a thing of cheer exitement and awe, then that serpent-like solos..jim...the drums....fuck me...its just too much to bare, wow

  • I have only recently found out that MR MOJO RISIN' is an anagram of Jim Morrison..........

  • ha! yeah! really!

  • come ride with me..across the sea..endlessly..so happy we will be..

    we miss you Jim.

  • magnificent performance in my opinion, thank you for this jim,you are the lizard king,n the doors rule

  • great performance i'm in love with it

  • I can't imagine the criticisms of this performance-I think it is magnificent and soulful.

  • The most Sedating Song ever~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  • I have to say though-at at the 4:00 minute mark or so Jim seems to really be trying to get into it-he even opens his eyes for once.

  • ther was an away in india section in this version, and a gitar section after he says-ride that train missing.why was it butcherd can any one shed any light???

  • THE BEARD ROCKS!

  • no

    its a ciggaret

  • is jim smoking a blunt?

  • This Day In Music Dec 12, 1970

The Doors play what will be their last live concert with Jim Morrison as singer in New Orleans

check us out for more daily music history

    Daily Anthem

  • Once again a soulful performance. The Doors Forever! Rock on! :)

  • the reason the doors wont or cant release this version on dvd is not because it was a piss performance but because the bbc who made the recordings wont release it for public viewing.

  • Hey your the guy from hipforums? I'm ChildofhteRisingSun remember me?

  • huh?

  • god damn it's good.

  • they followed the who.not an easy band to follow, but the doors are hardcore an dheld their own

  • just perfect

  • theres only 2 recordings of riders on the storm live, thats allthey played it, wonder if anyone has it

  • really? i think they never play in live...

  • they never played it live because jim passed away before the version was released.

  • @britneyspearsx DO YOU KNOW IF EXIST A VIDEO OF THISE ISLE FESTIVAL OF BREAK ON THROUGH (TO THE OTHER SIDE)?

  • Fine for you little one

  • viva jim morrison!!!!!! 03-07-1971

  • The Doors will never officialy release this performance on dvd/cd, as they assert is was a piss poor performance..

  • I can't agree with them-at least not soundwise. For example imo the Isle of Wight "Break On Through" is the best live Doors performance of that song. Robbie's guitar in particular has a fullers sound that I love. They just sound more I don't know-Full of Blues and Soul. :)

  • That's true.. You can compare this performance on their just released Pittsburgh-live.. I'd say that was somewhat soulless.. On the other hand the new Live in Boston is a complete killer.. Morrison is fucking wasted and there are some musical problems but there's some unexplainable magic in that one.. Plus for some odd reason I've always considered the ones where Jim just concentrates on singing their best shows. Like Hollywood Bowl.. Ray and Robby for example hate that one.. I LOVE it..

  • I love their Hollywood Bowl performances! I know alot of fans think that concert was comparatively 'tame' but imo Jim's voice was at the time of his game-it had really beauty-actually even at the sad last year or so of his life his voice had that magic.

  • I could not agree with you more..

  • THE END iiS A GOOD ASS FUCKiiN SONG

  • this video is sooooo GREAT. i love it! for some reason i always love the part where he says. the end of niiights we...triiied to diiie. haha

    he's the best

  • This footage is from the movie "Message to love - Isle of wight festival" that contain also other great performances from the best artists of the 60's. Anyway for me THIS is the best Morrison, his voice is Deep and soulful more then ever!

  • it really hurts to see him perform so emotionlessly although he doesn't sound like it his face tells enough.. even robby doesn't look like he's having a good time

  • I have to agree that sadly as great as they sound-Jim is standing their almost the entire performance with his eyes closed. :(

  • @audie83 He sings better with his eyes closed than 99% of so-called singers today sing with their eyes open.

  • I agree. It's very sad to see this great artist pretty much lose his 'spirit' as it were before he lost his voice. :(

  • @thomasjeeh His voice has plenty of emotion.

  • Sad seeing him like that, almost dissappointing that someone as great as jim performing emotionlessly. Seems he didnt care about anything anymore at that point.

  • at that point jim was fucked up for the drugs

  • i say, at that point, he was most likely burned out from his alcoholism.

  • @MrMojoRisinn Booze, actually.

  • @KFCisallisee i couldn't disagree more...this is one of the best performances of The End.

  • @GrizzlTooth I agree, this is one of their best performances! Some say Jim isn't showing emotions here, but I disagree 100%. It's almost like he knew "The End" was indeed near. You can hear the melancholy in this song. It's priceless, and sad, I loved Jim Morrison.

  • @KFCisallisee emotionlessly?! r u kidding? R we watching the same performance?

  • I think this might be their Isle of Wight performance...

  • great vid mojo

  • What is this From?

  • it does say what its from ontop of video like they usally do lol

  • Got that part...i'm asking i this is from a DVD. lol

  • legends!!!!
