  • these guys .....hey.... how good are they?

  • This Music is good for the Soul,

  • @Srurgisbound Right on! Soul music it is! Many thanks, & Season's Greetings!!

  • One of the best lead guitar solos ever by the late, great Byrd Burton. Not too many bands in the Aces' league.

  • @jbljedi :) You can say that again... mighty band. Many thanks for the comment. Cheers.

  • I love these guys. They they make my soul happy. :)

  • @ssal777 And mine too - great you enjoyed !! Thank you !! :)

  • yes when you hear willies guitar you know its him Byrd burtons is the same but i would argue its more haunting and moving..this album is one of my top 5 all times favorites,,no actualy my favorite all time all cutsare great and so many wide ranging styles

  • @tominflorida80 Yes Byrd was pretty darn good, had this very distinct style. I'm sure you agree, this is one of the all-time great songs, a classic... never ceases to affect the emotions, and then his guitar solo, perfect stuff. Thanks for your comment pal, appreciate it.

  • it must be sary to be that fucking good as a band no other guitar sounds like his..its kinda like willies

  • @tominflorida80 As in Willie Nelson? I've always really admired these guys, since Too Stuffed to Jump and the single off it, End Is Not In Sight. Thanks man.

  • it must be sary to be that fucking good as a band

  • hate to admit it, but i kinda like Tanya Tucker's cover, too

  • one of the most romantic dance songs ever

  • @djtvc15 Absolutely ace, lol. Thank you my friend !! :)

  • One of the best guitar solos ever. R.I.P. Barry "Byrd" Burton

  • @KetchKent Great solo, agree - thanks!

  • I wore out an 8-track copy of "Too Stuffed to Jump" over 30 years ago. I finally found LP copies of that album and "Stacked Deck". When I finally got rid of my vinyl records (right before they came out with quick, convenient ways to digitize them) those are the only two records I kept. Now I've also got CD versions of both. They were a vastly under-appreciated group.

  • @ElZorro99 I've still got 'Too Stuffed' on vinyl, but also the cd now. Yes, might get one of those digitising turntables, but it's time consuming eliminating the 'snap, crackle, pop', so i'm told. Thanks for the comment, appreciate it.

  • judd58_ ELZorro99 , you should check out DAK.com....just ordered one of those today and it seems fairly easy to operate. The guy gives an excellent tutorial and offers great follow up.

  • Thanks for uploading these two wonderful songs. I heard them in the 70s, and loved them. But it wasn't my record, so I haven't heard them since then. But one day it occured to me, everything's on Youtube now, probably also Amazing Rhythm Aces. So now, perhaps I could finally listen to them again And there they were! Thanks!

  • @ringozstarr Thanks a lot for that, really happy you enjoyed !! Take care, :)

  • Cool upload, nice accompanying pix, all told just some really fine work! "Dancing The Night Away", it was awesome to listen to the original studio version! And Hell Yeah Russel Smith is a dyed in the wool By God Musical Genius! Long Live The Amazing Rhythm Aces!

  • @redsfanstu Right on, they were a great band, and still are of course. Glad you enjoyed, much appreciated! Take care and hang in there! :)

  • Great tune. Man, Byrd Burton sure could play! RIP, Byrd

  • What a great band, sure takes me back to the mid 70's. Thanks for putting this tagather.

  • @sdsturgisryder They were superb, yeah, loved 'em, and still do !! Lol. Many thanks.

  • I really enjoyed the song and your video. Very nostalgic and it works well with the great sound of the "Aces". Thank you for your post.

  • @Clancee7 Thank you for your comment, much appreciated. One of the great American bands for mine. :) My only regret, i never saw them live, though I did see them at the airport one time they toured here many years ago, lol.

  • Really great video ... I love it ... great music and wonderful photo's of some of the greats ! Many stars for you .... hugs ... Toni

  • @Dayniac4324 Thank you so much Toni ... it's actually one of the very first ones i made, and it's been downhill ever since !! lol .. very happy you enjoyed ... hugs, manfread, xoxo

  • Who is that at 4:52???

  • In the red dress? Vivien Leigh. At one stage she was married to Lawrence Olivier.

  • The pic is probably from Gone With the Wind, certainly looks like it.

  • Thank you =]

    Great video by the way.

  • I loved the music. The selection of photos is very good. We have many o f the same favorites. I was surprised to see Batman and Robin in there. Very clever.

    -------Ellen

  • Ellen, thank you, much appreciated, but I have to confess the Batman & Robin thing was completely accidental - I simply didn't know what else to put in there, and then Lorne Green and the Cartwrights came to mind as well. Glad you like the songs! Thank you again!

  • five stars, manfread!! so many great pic's of some of the past movie greats!! and, i am kind of a sucker for marilyn monroe - i see more in her than just the sex symbol. thanks, for sharing, my friend.

    david

  • You're right, they were such great movie stars! Today's can't hold a candle to them. Yes, Marilyn was more than just a sex goddess -- she could actually act both comedically as well as straight (e.g., The Misfits, tremendous film). Thank you for the rating! (Gee whiz, it's been hot down here, I even got ill, but today mercifully it's cooled down markedly; storm clouds have gathered and it's 'batten down the hatches' time now.)

  • Great video -- some of my fave's there -- and great music. New to me -- love it.

    5 *****

  • Them's The Aces, The Amazing Rhythm Aces. Great American band. Thankyou for the rating ;-)

  • As Time Goes By They Just Keep Getting Better - Great Post.

  • They certainly do -- many thanks.

  • Absolutely love that opening shot of Marilyn; and of course, Bogie, Bergman, Hepburn, Davis - all immortal :)

  • Thank you! :-)

  • they are not immortal. they are all dead give you a clue

  • Bill Murray won't be too pleased to hear/read that he's no longer with us, ;-)

  • was that casablanca part for ingrid and bogie or no?

  • Absolutely for both of them. Two of the greats - thank you!
