recently stated in an interview with NME that he's not done with Gorillaz, he's just trying some new things for right now, Gorillaz will come back. As a matter of fact, there is going to be a new song released with Gorillaz and two other (unknown atm) artists february of next year along with a new range of converse shoes. Gorillaz aren't dead. In fact, they are far from it.

In an interview with Jamie and Damon they explained that they didn't have much to do with the others field of work so as to avoid fighting and letting each genius do what they are good at.
