@GEO900RGE 436 ! Now your talking ! Closest i got to that was a 416 years ago, Right tool for the job, But lacking 100 odd hp :( I work for a tin pot contractor in Devon, Not going to say who, Never know who's reading this :) Tractor front mounted buckrake combo suit me best, My right foot is made of lead when im on a pit.
@GEO900RGE Its safe to say yes, I woulden't be able to sleep at night knowing i'd made such a bad job of a pit ! And no, I've never buckraked on a 7050, The tractor should be a good bit of kit , My "All the gear" comment means, All the gear, No idea ! Needs a lot more practice by the looks of things. (I use a 930 Vario btw) :)
@bertybollox69 for such a smart and experienced buckrake man, you missed that this must only be the start of the pit, looks like second cut going ontop of first cut, you can see the different silage as he is climbing, so i'd say who the hell cares aslong as it's going in, only the top needs to be level
@JCB411abuser Its going in alright, Full of air that well never be rolled ouy, even if the top was level, And rolled for a week ! The best silage has every load rolled, Although there are times anybody would struggle to do that with the assholes in foragers these days, The faster they pile the loads in the happier they are ! Dispite the poor quailty silage it makes.
@bertybollox69 lad go back and read up yer ag-science book, when you are putting in silage the bacteria is using oxygen from within and outside the pit to rot the grass, soon as the oxygen inside is gone it doesn't cause anymore harm, but obviously it can draw far more(unlimited) air from outside while you're filling the clamp, so you need you get the pit in and covered as soon as possible to make good quality silage, so unless you covering as you go speed is more important.
animal of a tractor compared to the old fiat 80-90 or even a 110-90 that i used to drive!!!

@GEO900RGE just been on your website, you've got some very NICE kit :) but how much of it do you own, and how much of it is on finance?
craigl1234321 5 months ago
@GEO900RGE We've got a Jaguar 850, Which is plenty fast enough in some of the shite pits i do,
Sounds like you've got some nice kit, And your uncle is probably right about being the biggest in S england,
Where i work is what i would call "Glorified farming" not contracting :)

I like that 7050 with the flag on the hood....really dressed up!

Bit quicker than what I first started buckraking with, a MF 188, with no push off! Also it was wagon silage, so it was a spongy as hell!
