@OfficialRespawn No, it wasn't a "great play". The only thing close to being "great" about it was that Cousins had the perfect distance on the throw. Everything else was pure luck. Well, you also have to give credit to Nichol for making that little twist to thrust his elbow with the ball across the goal line for a split second, which is all it takes. You do understand, OfficialRespawn, that it's not where the ball ends up when he finally hits the ground, it's the furthest point of advancement.

Anyway, the play was 20% skill and 80% pure luck (why do you think they call it a "Hail Mary"? Heave it and pray.) Fine with me, I'm a Stanford grad and the play allowed Stanford to pass Wisconsin in the rankings.

Honestly, I'm happy for you. There's historically been too much suck in Stanford athletics; I remember almost a decade back when you were renowned for basketball, but were upset in the second game of the tournament by Maryland. But Andrew Luck is a helluva quarterback, and he should take you guys far. Just don't be so quick to undermine MSU; we're getting our shit together, and, offensively and defensively, we earned this win.

Perhaps you've never heard of the Directors Cup, which since 1993 has been awarded to the college with the most successful athletic program. Stanford has won it the last 17 straight years. Sure, it includes less popular sports like water polo, tennis, field hockey, etc, but it measures the overall program. Historically Stanford has usually been near the top in baseball, tennis, water polo, swimming, volleyball, etc.
