@darreyl102 how long is the non equity tour of hairspray? and was like anything big changed (i.e. any songs taken out, reduced)?

not sure of the exact run time, but some things we shorten. it;s Hairspray was shorten, Without Love was shorten, Both Penny's parts and Edna's parts in You Can't stop the beat were shortend too.

has anybody noticed that the council members differ in whether they go up or down first on the Go, Mama, Gos! on the tour and in london, they shimmy down first then raise their hands up. while in broadway, they raised their hands up and then they shimmied down. just wondering if anyone knew why

Good question, the theatre mabey was to small? When I saw the tour there was no backdrop eathier.

yeah, the stage was extremly small, i talked to Ariel Tyler and she said it was prob. one of the smallest they had to work on.

The theatre I saw it at as small also.

They did no have many sets..

ex. The Living Room, Backdrops, "Nicest Kids In Town" curtain drop etc.

I think Brooklynn has been getting sick. As for the padding, its kind of hard to make a skinny girl look fat. On broadway they have an understudy who is usually big already. On tour they just have the girl playing Shelly.

Ariel Page is brilliant as Velma. I have seen Hairspray so many times and she is by far the best all around at the role. The rest of the cast is also brilliant. She is a stand out for me. I'm looking forward to getting to see her again in Jersey.

i LOVED her, she was really good, she kinda reminded me somwhat of the wicked witch, but prettier. she also sang really really really good! she put soo much into the role !

Yeah, I'd have to agree about the whole wicked witch thing. I loved the way she cackled after "(The Legend of) Miss Baltimore Crabs." She must've been not feeling well the day I saw it because she seemed a bit tired or something.

saddly, this is all i have, i have four rows from the stage and two users were like 3 seats away from me, they were watching me when i did this little part so i had to lean way down which is why there is alot of heads.
