any celtic bands people can through my way? love the upbeat tunes. i'm guessing there more traditional stuff. got into the celtic woman and celtic thunder and looking for some good groups that keep the songs in irish instead of changing it over to english
@Reachwun there was a light loafered lad with hair like an unshaven ewe, he helped shed the pounds with his sweaty old sounds and a meal he did deal or two.
@brianmgr111 Where did you get these lyrics? Can you send me all of them? I am an USA, irish fiddler and this is my favorite tune I've ever played. Had no ideal there were lyrics. Awesome.
@1916dnicolas The Irish Rovers sang this in the 60's or 70's - the first two verses. I have a copy I made from an early vinyl I bought when it first came out. A fair amount of their music is very much in this style (Do you remember "The Unicorn"?).
this is really great music. i love irish and scottish stuff as well as stuff on bagpipes. i don't exactly know why. i just like the sound, i guess, and that's all there is to it!
Remek a hangszerelés és jól is szól, bár én kicsit gyorsnak találom a tempóját, igaz helyfüggő hol játszák a hornpipe-ot gyorsabban. Azon még nem tetszett gondolkozni, hogy használjon tradícionális ír díszítéseket?
@aranzoltan penny whistle was invented in its modern form from the headpice of french and english flipple flutes in manchester england by Robert Clark in the 19th century. Clark still make English flageolets as they are marked. Likewise the modern low wistle based on Clarks metal design or low penny whistle was invended in the 1970s and manufactured/designed in Rugby England by an English maker called Bernard Overton.
I've just recently discovered all this wonderful Irish folk music, finding free sheets online and playing them on flute - wish I had a low whistle though.
Do you have any good sheet locations for this stuff? I'm addicted
I think that this melody is so beautiful ... so sorrowful but it wants to make you dance at the same time . You are very talented and if you ever come out with CD that includes music like this I would be the first in line to buy !
you have amazing talent and i am immeasurably happy to have found someone with such talent playing folk music from not just ireland but other places as well
if you haven't already you really should make an album--i would buy it without a second thought
THANK YOU FOR THIS FAIRY MUSIC GOD BLESS YOU! May the angels visit you on your dreams!

King of the Faeries
High up on the hill top the old king sits
He's now so old and grey he's nearly lost his wits
He's rising with the music on the cold starry night
To sup with the queen of the gay north light.

King of the Faeries
Up the airy mountain, through the rushy glen
We daren't go a-hunting for fear of little men.
Wee folk, good folk, trooping all together
Green jacket, red cap and white owl's feather.
By the craggy hillside, through the mosses bare
They've planted thorn trees for pleasure here and there.
Is any man so daring as to dig them up in spite
He'll find the sharpest thorns in his bed at night.
