It's a hobo spider (Tegenaria agrestis)- very similar to the wolf spider.

Looks like Tegenaria atrica, biggest we generally get in britain. I looked these buggers up a few years ago when our house was suddenly full of them! Luckily I have a really hungry cat. Nomnomnom!

I found that they're quite aggressive though, I'm not up for going near them.

House spider of the genus Tegenaria. Possibly Tegenaria domestica. It's a male and it was probably looking for a mate - that's usually why they end up trapped in baths and so on in the autumn in the UK.

Giant House Spider by the look of it, we've had some in our house. My cats love eating those. Though there is a chance that it's a Hobo Spider... it's hard to tell. I had to catch one and take it to an entomologist to be sure it was a Giant House Spider and not a Hobo... but yeah.
