mxl 3000 is much more worth the investment, get a m box degi design and record with pro tools..you will deliver a nice warm professional recording. and have much more control over your vocals

@crystalvillicana you buy an interface because it comes with a pre amp that amplifies the sound, this helps minimize white noise. if you are doing anything serious, an interface is a must have.

@RickDadde Audacity is perfect for Recording vocals such as, Podcasting, Singing, Rapping etc..

Audacity is only limited on it's editing, as it's a free bit of kit that is.

You shouldn't have any problems there anyway :)

The software you are using does not work good (for vocalist) Frutiy Loops has a grate recording even if you dont have a good mic, I say. Why not test it on there?

The price increased to $80 under QE2. It has a 3/4" diaphragm, yet cheaper microphones have 1" diaphragms. It must have some EQ built into the electronics.

@timm41 you have to connect the mic to a mixer and then connect the mixer to the computer via USB. This mic requires phantom power which is why you need a mixer.

@timm41 Yes, you have to get the usb version, but if you don't buy the usb version, then you need an audio interface that has phantom power, and if you don't have one that has phantom power, then you'll need to get a phantom power generator that puts out at least 48v. the phantom power generators are quite cheap
