  • I didn't think that I could dislike any cable Co more than Comcast but DirectTV beats them hands down. This gave me pleasure. Thanks!

  • Although I completely hate their customer service and everything to do with direct tv the company that doesnt include just watching it, I really love actual direct tv. Everything about it, the guide dvr etc etc. I will never use anything else. I think its worth it to put up with their crap. What this woman went through though is complete BULLSHIT! She deserves her money back and fuck direct tv for that!

  • FOX TV NW & Direct TV is being a little childish in their northwest negotiations. I want my programming back! Especially fox & E! You can get Fox free on hulu.com Long story short-negotiations fell short 160,000 homes are losing out because fox wants to increase what we pay by 600% and direct tv wants to be a snob with it's profit margins. I dont want to pay more for my service but also hate that they are taking away these channels which I watch A LOT.

  • i believe direct tv is owned by att uverse. and i have u verse. pretty good sirvice. but when the power goes out it takes 30 minutes for their main servers to get back up.

    and every year they want to increase the bill by 10 dollars so i said fuck them, iv bitched enough and im seeking other companies.

  • They tried to reschedule me 4 times as well. ON that 4th attempt I asked to speak directly to the CEO. Installation was the next day and ON TIME. However I've had nothing but trouble with Direct TV since I got it. After 5 days I realized I made the biggest mistake ever and was now locked into a 2 year contract.

Attention If You read this comment do not go to a retail store Locally To Buy direct Tv: Please Call 1800-347-3288. A Mastec Installer Will Install Your System.. Or a Authorized Sub-Contractor for Mastec.. Will.. And Always remember you should never Receive raw equipment before a new installation

  • The retailer there in Raleigh ripped you off, not DirecTV. The retailer sold you equipment from their own inventory and they made money. DirecTV never saw it.

    Without taking legal action against the retailer, you probably could've sold the equipment on ebay and recovered at least some of your loss. Probably not as satisfying as the axe treatment, though.

  • First of all, you dont buy Directv equipment from them, you lease it. Secondly, if your programming services were never inititated you wouldnt have been charged anything. And if you still have the equipment than you can still order directv.

  • Guess what genius. You got ripped off by what's called a mom and pop company, which is a privately owned and operated installation company. Real DTV does not send you a dish and equipment, the installers bring that to your home. To bad you smashed those receivers and dish, hope it was worth the money.

  • I have charter and its awesome... i switched from dish network, DONT EVR GET IT!!... and ive never had a problem and my bills are low, 106 a month w/ HD DVR, 2 other TVs, and 2 unlimited long distance phone lines (fax)

  • I just got my first bill and it's $65 instead of the promised $29.99 plus tax. They said that I needed to go online and apply for a rebate, which I qualified for.. but after I submitted it, it said 8 weeks to process. I called and got shafted with $65 bills until the promo kicks in in March. Direct TV fails.

  • I hope I don't have any problems cancelling my Direct Tv account when I move. I'm switching to a cable TV company because once or twice every week I have to reset my Direct TV receiver because it freezes up on me. I didn't like the guy who installed it either.  He was late getting to my house which cost me a day's salary from my job and when he got to the house, he wanted to know where he can go buy cigerettes. He didn't handle the receiver very well either when he installed it.

  • Directv bites. Literally we got better quality in THUNDERSTORMS only. anything else was blurry.

  • I asked the Direct TV tech guy who installed our DVR "If it offered setting show reminders" and he said "Yes". But nowhere on the DVR, Guidebook, website, or info chanel can I find anything on setting up show reminders. This is a feature I used to have with the Time Warner DVR so I figured Direct TV would have it on their DVRs. Soooo if he said "yes" then it must be offered... but how do I set up show reminders? Example if a show is on tomorrow at 8pm and I want to set up a reminder that its on?

  • I just got a penis broken off in my rectum by direct tv TODAY!! After three weeks of trying to get e refund for an upgrade & equipment that wasn't done by them but another company (Qwest) they informed me that I could only receive a refund on a closed account and the money would have to be applied to my account instead! I was told by EVERY other customer service idiot that I could check back in a few days (3 WEEKS AGO) to check on the status of the refund!

    Pissed off but I'll get over it

  • Directv is a ripp-off.Please don't make business with them.They are too nasty when you call their customer service, they transfer your call several times and after more than 45 minutes of waiting for somebody to resolve your problem they hung up. The other day I called and they transfer my call to the spanish dept because I have a spanish package on my account, the spanish guy gave me attitude and was so irrespectful.And this is only the first part, I hate them.We have to do something about it.

To be so pissed about $99.00 and a little inconvenience means to me that you have no time and no patience. Does that mean you are busy making more money.   • It's 105 degrees in Scottsdale,AZ where all of my installs have been for the last 2 weeks. Even the local techs don't like working this area because you have to worry about Spanish tile roofs, HOA's, 150 degree low attics and every body wants wall fishing for free. Wall fishing is CUSTOM LABOR!!!!!! Custom labor = Additional charges.

  • I just decided to look up Directv on Youtube today. I'm on temp assignment in Phoenix, AZ via Chicago for my company that installs for Directv and I figured I would find videos like this. It's too bad that customers have to wait for technicians that are late or can't make it at all or don't have the proper equipment. It's just the nature of the type of work we do. Some of these unpleasant occurances can be helped and some can't.

  • I also had to reschedule 1 time because installers showed up late and didn't have all the necessary tools. at least they gave me 100dollar credit for missed appointment although they didn't actually miss it but showed up late and unprepared. oh well i will take what i can get.

  • how did you get in this situation? i signed up on the phone and didn't give any money. they sent installer who brought all the equipment with him and got it working. only after that you pay for services. equipment is free. your situation is weird and unusual. why buy equipment upfront? why reschedule so many times? something is fishy here.

  • You know if you ask them to install it they will come and install it. Another thing is why did you pay for the boxes when they give them out for free. I just got a DVR and 5 new boxes from them to upgrade my old ones for free.

  • They tried to rip me off too! We had a hurricane here & the wind shifted the dish a bit (I later found out). When I called, rather than tell me to shift it to get the signal back, they wanted to charge me to come out to LOOK at it. I refused to pay to have someone come just to LOOK at it and cancelled my service! I switched to cable and am just fine with that! Screw these idiots! They make it so easy to GET the service. Then they think they gotcha by the dish! Nice job Terry!!!

  • You could've sold the equipment to someone else locally or on eBay who knows how to install and setup the hardware themselves since that particular hardware was probably never authorized for your account.

  • Contract companys that work for Directv dont care. They cant keep any good technitions around brcause they are cheap and wont pay worth a crap! Thats why when you call their 1800 # it go's to India and cant speak english. Directv sucks ass anyways. Get DishNetwork

  • hmmm ... you must be talking about a different DirecTV than the one I deal with. I've had an account with them since they first launched and I've never talked to anyone with an accent (DirecWay, yes ... DirecTV,no). I also receive outstanding customer service. They always replace any broken equipment or fix any problems that I might have for free! Anytime I'm without service, I get a refund!

    My brother-in-law has DishNetwork and it's a joke when compared to DirecTV ... don't make me laugh.

  • You are obviously ignorant. Direct way and Directv are the same company! I worked for Directv's corporate office for 5 years and they always charged customers for service calls. Also their call center is located in India. So if you think they speak good english, you must be a sand nigger too! BlindRevolution is a perfect name for you.   • yeah i work for directv as well.but yes it is the hsp's fault. most hsp's or 'tech's take forever and she's not the only one that's experienced this. but sry to say im sure she's having more problems because if she payed 99$ for everything it looks like she got leased equip. so i hope everything worked out.

  • OMG almost the same thing just happened to my mother...DTV is E-V-I-L!!!! We switched back to Dish after 1 day on the Direct & Verizon bundle package (Verizon tried to help but Direct reps were being total very rude) the nightmare is simply too long to go into but they are MISLEADING!! CONSUMER BEWARE!

  • You will experience the same problem with Dishnetwork but atleast they are cheaper and has better equipment than Direct TV.
