I know the context is about Watergate - he believed it was okay for him to carry out and cover up what happened with that specifically because that was the subject of the interview, but it certainly implies much more. If he believes it's alright to break the law for that then he'll believe it for anything, it wouldn't just limit it to watergate-like situations.
The movie made that moment seem much more of an accident statement rather than "oh yes" statement than the original...
Though both made my mouth drop when I read/saw the original and saw the movie...

Nixon was an elitist, he viewed that as a President he could do whatever he wanted and not have to suffer any concequences. If he had remained in office any longer he probably would have sought ways to extend his term.

That said, perjury about a blowjob is not a "high crime or misdemeanor" that is worthy of impeachment. If that were, true, then nearly every President in the history of the U.S. should've been impeached. In Clinton's case specifically, a censure should've been enough.
