Great video mate! I had to think long and hard on the choice between corsair and trojan, but I went for the Corsair at the eleventh hour simply for the great look of the real warbird!. It was my first rc plane and has neen a great experience, only been at it two weeks and I am hooked big time! and already eyeing up tha trojan to make grass field take-offs easier with the tricycle undercarriage, keep up the great flying and vids, looking forward to some more, Thanks from down under!
You're welcome. Great to hear from folks down under! I'm glad the Corsair worked out for you. I really like the Parkzone and EFlite birds. More videos coming soon.
Thanks for the compliment. The fact that you don't have to fly full throttle all the time to have fun is very true. I like cruising around and enjoying the thrill of flight. Full throttle is used for loops, etc. You also get much longer flights at reduced throttle settings. I'm glad my video was a help to you.
Oh. Tough question. The T-28 is really nice. I have about 300 flights on it (stock) and I've never had to replace a part. But, overall the Corsair just looks a bit better in the air.
Note: the T-28 is much easier to handle on the ground with the tricycle gear. The Corsair is very squirrely for my skills when on pavement. On grass it's much easier.
If you are newer to R/C I would suggest the T-28 for easier takeoffs and landings.
If you have some experience than the choice is whichever looks best to you. Other than the normal difference between tricycle gear and tail dragger they fly pretty much the same in the air.
The flight time is similar for both.
I really like the Corsair without the gear. The BL P-51 looks really nice without the gear too (it doesn't come with any). I keep the gear on the Trojan so I have something to fly when I go to asphalt R/C fields.
Nice flying! Try and remove the landing gear on the T-28, I was not impressed by the weak gear, after scraping the gear, It's a whole new bird! Wonderful flyer!
thanks for the reply. just ordered my first plane in about 22 years, the e-flight t-34 ePTS mentor trainer. it was a decision between the t-28 or the t-34 hope i made the right decision. what do you think?
I have both and both are very good. The T-34 needs plenty of room to fly. Being balsa it will be a bit harder to repair. It is heavier so you have to keep a little more speed on landing than the T-28. It can drop pretty hard the last few feet if you get too slow. Of the two the T-34 is my favorite. All in all the T-34 will be slightly more difficult to fly but you should enjoy it. Have you flown before? 22 years ago?
So far it hasn't been a problem. It's designed for optional gear. The kit includes skids to mount under the wing when the gear is removed. With the gull wing the aileron servos are protected from the ground. I started using the skids when a slightly hard landing broke one of the gear mounts. It was going to take weeks to get a replacement mount so I started flying it without the gear and I liked how it looked a lot. Even though I now have a replacement mount I haven't put the gear back on.
I fly with the skids too, looks a lot better and havn't had any problems landing but I land into some tall grass. I took out the wheel mounts, cut the teeth off and drilled the skids so able to screw in the wheel mounts w/ wheels back in when wanted, works great!
Well, the differences are considerable if I looked up the right plane. The TW has a32 inch wingspan, Nimh battery, brushed motor and 1600 foot range. The Parkzone RTF comes with a lipo battery, brushless motor and speed controller, and a full range spectrum radio that you can fly anywhere and not worry about interference from other modelers. It has a 44" wingspan. In my opinion there is no comparison. The Parkzone Corsair would be the one I would choose.
If you are just looking at price you aren't comparing two similar planes. For the extra money you are getting a much better and potentially longer lasting plane plus a radio that you can use long into the future on other models. It's not a programmable radio like the Spektrum DX6i or DX7 but it uses the same receivers that the higher end radios use. Someday if you upgrade to a higher end radio you will be able to "bind" your Corsair to it and fly it with the new radio.
I changed to Spektrum radios shortly after I started up again in R/C after a 25 year absence. I would never use a non-Spektrum radio again. I can fly anywhere and not worry about interference. I fly at local schools, parks, and a lake in the center of town with a Seawind. I do it with confidence knowing that no one can "shoot" me down by turning on a radio in their garage. It also allows me to fly at my club field and not worry about sharing time with someone else on the same frequency.
I got the Parkzone Corsair RTF version with the AR500 Receiver and Spektrum transmitter. I didn't use the transmitter since I have a DX7. I just followed the "bind" process to lock the receiver to my transmitter and off I went. No one can interfere with the setup and the motor won't start if I haven't made the correct model selection in the transmitter. I don't have to worry about starting the motor and not having full control of the plane with the "model match" feature of the DX7.
Thank you. I've had lots of practice! The Corsair is an excellent choice. It has plenty of power and flies real good. It uses the same power plant as the T-28 so they both fly good. The Corsair is slightly faster than the T-28 since it seems to weigh a bit less. I can outrun my friends T-28 with my Corsair when we play chase. I started with the gear on the Corsair but removed them and I think it looks a lot better flying around without the gear. You'll enjoy the Corsair when you get one.
OUCH! That hurts. I was flying both. I have to say though that I have to fly pretty conservative when a non-pilot is filming because they can't anticipate what I may do next and can't keep the camera on the plane. For the video's I do pretty basic stuff to get some good images and few pictures of sky!
Thank you. That is a tough question to answer. I have about 300 flights on the Trojan and it is very visible. I only have 20 or so flights on the Corsair. For a newer pilot the Trojan would be best because it is easy to see in the air. I think initially it would be easier to get disoriented with the Corsair. The motor is the same in both. Flying weight is similar. When flying against another Trojan the Corsair is slightly faster. Overall I would have to pick the Trojan (close call).

It is easy to install/remove the Corsair gear so I stick it on when I fly from asphalt (leave the tail wheel on all the time).
It is harder to remove the Trojan nose gear so I just leave it on all the time. It handles great from grass or asphalt.

cool i guess now its just a process of getting the money lol

Excellent idea. I'll drill mine out too but I'm not sure I'll ever use the gear again. It looks too good without.
