I'm back, I have the music on my computer but enjoy watching the images while listening to AP sing. I never really thought much about AP but by the time I realized what a treasure he had given generations of people he had already left his world. Perhaps one day I will make the journey through the little grave on the green hill side and see if I can harmonize with him.
I wanted to add a comment about the pictures used in the video. The photographer who did the portraits for the Dec. 7th, 1941 edition of Life Magazine that never ran because of Pearl Harbor said that AP Carter was the most exotic man he had ever seen and photographed. The photographer had two portraits that he kept on his desk permanently - one of himself and the other was of AP Carter.
A.P. wrote this song. Janette said it was a bit more cutting in its original version. I guess time or better sense caused AP to tone it down. It is a particularly interesting tune and one of my favorites - of the two recorded versions I have I enjoy the one with AP playing his own guitar. His solos from the Border Recordings are great and fun listening.
Funny too hear A.P. playing the guitar, when you're thinking about all the hours Pleasant and Lesley Riddle spent together under the tree when Riddle tried to learn Pleasant how to play the guitar!
Music doesn't get much better than this,[ in any genre, ] So easy & gentle, no histrionics or extremes, Just magic.

Thanks for sharing. A lot of truth in these words, some things just don't change with time.

@fscofi I am impressed by this photo shoot. Very gentlemanly appearance. If you are aware, who was the photographer used to photographing?

For some reason all the songs sung by A.P. are those I love most.
I can't believe that no moving pictures survived, Fox or Pathe or whoever must have covered them in their weekly editions.
