Why? There is no right or wrong place, but the video, is trying to help many people who have never meditated before. I go to work early in the morning, I meditate on the train, you can eventually meditate anywhere. Thai meditation, you meditation all day, while you do some of the most 'mundane' activity. But this video is good, it conditions your mind, that it is 'meditation time'. No you don't have to be barefoot! Juswolf22, in all due respect you're wacky.
the animals get their vitamins from vegetables, and then carnivores eat them and get all the vitamins.and I'm not a vegetarian. far from it. but my brother is and I can understand why someone would want to be.
I personally do yoga, and just one tip, dont fill up your belly, try to push your belly bottom as closer to the spine as possible. Inflate your chest cavities and also try to inflate your ribs to the sides ;)

Plus it's absolutely NOT necessary to meditate alone at some empty place. Many people tend to build up nervousity then or feel inpatient, try to check the time all the time which is rather distracting from the point. It's better to go to group meditations at the beginning. etc

There are no buses to my nearest forest at 4am in the morning, I keep nodding off during meditation because I got up so early without any breakfast. And that walk to the forest got my asthma going again. Any suggestions?

It probably has something to do with the mechanisms of the biological clock and at those times are minds tend to be the most relaxed or something like that. I have no proof, only guesses.
Chances are the benefits of that time frame to any other time frame is like the benefits of dark chocolate to milk chocolate. They both have positive impact and sweetness, one just impacts a little more positively in spite of a bitter taste that you can get used to through habit.
I learned from extensive reading that, in many Eastern traditions, the most important goal of meditation, referred to sometimes as Enlightenment, comes from noticing something subtle but startling about your consciousness.
Following the suggestions in the video, concentrate on searching inwardly for the part of yourself you call "I". When searched for the "I" vanishes, and you experience moment to moment existence in an entirely new way. This is the state usually referred to as Enlightenment.
As in the fact that the "I" actually disappears when you focus your attention on it. Our egos are an illusion produced by how our brains create our awareness. "I", that is we, are not the experiencer of our experiences. Instead, our consciousness doesn't really exist and events are merely sensed. This frees the mind to exist in an entirely new way that words fail to describe. I entreat you: Try it out.

It's just hard. How do you think about nothing without thinking about thinking about nothing ergo thinking of something by thinking of nothing. I just can't quite do it. But maybe if I just try more.

Sometimes I can meditate perfectly great. But othertimes my mind is too crowded, and so by trying to clear my thoughts I start thinking about why I'm thinking about what Im thinking about then I start thinking about thinking about nothing, which is hard because I don't know what to think about. It's just hard. How do you think about nothing without thinking about thinking about nothing ergo thinking of something by thinking of nothing. I just can't quite do it. But maybe if I just try more.

It probably has something to do with the mechanisms of the biological clock and at those times are minds tend to be the most relaxed or something like that. I have no proof, only guesses.
Chances are the benefits of that time frame to any other time frame is like the benefits of dark chocolate to milk chocolate. They both have positive impact and sweetness, one just impacts a little more positively in spite of a bitter taste that you can get used to through habit.

I learned from extensive reading that, in many Eastern traditions, the most important goal of meditation, referred to sometimes as Enlightenment, comes from noticing something subtle but startling about your consciousness.
Following the suggestions in the video, concentrate on searching inwardly for the part of yourself you call "I". When searched for the "I" vanishes, and you experience moment to moment existence in an entirely new way. This is the state usually referred to as Enlightenment.

As in the fact that the "I" actually disappears when you focus your attention on it. Our egos are an illusion produced by how our brains create our awareness. "I", that is we, are not the experiencer of our experiences. Instead, our consciousness doesn't really exist and events are merely sensed. This frees the mind to exist in an entirely new way that words fail to describe. I entreat you: Try it out.
