Why has Capcom shafted PC owners, by only release 2 game packs (what a crock is that?) for their collections instead of the mega collections for console, and leaving off the most popular titles like Final Fight and such. What were they thinking?? The only way to get most of these games on pc, "officially" was to buy a hotrod joystick (which has since been surpassed by the x-arcade).
you never play the sega CD version, its identical like arcade, SNES version miss industrial area, and have worse graphics than SEGA CD version, play in a real TV not in a emulator, you see the great diference. Snes have good graphics, but SEGA CD version is really better
I disagree, leomatri. Much as I love the SCD version (which I own), the arcade is still better in terms of graphics (color, sprite size, details). The SNES version is inferior to either version. But yeah, apart from music and the time attack, the SCD pales to the true arcade original (even while it is the closest home port, baring emulation).
Leomatri: yup, less color than the SNES. You just never realized it because you were running the game through the Genesis' crappy/blurry video output. You need to look at both unfiltered from an emulator. The SegaCD one looks like *ASS*.
The SegaCD/Genesis video output is extra fuzzy compared to other systems at the time(SFC/SNES/NEOGEO). The colors are smearing and blending together giving a false impression of better colors that what's really there. More so that most systems. The Genesis/MegaDrive is *known* for taking advantage of this.
gee that's funny, the game still looks PLENTY good enough to play. and it's the connections you use on the system that matter the output. SNES supported up to S-video. Genesis didn't big deal. Genesis was also out 2 years BEFORE nintendo finally released the fucking system.
besides, we both know that the SegaCD soundtrack kicks ASS. but you wouldn't know or car cuz i bet you still use your TV's speakers, right?
What? Do you pull assumptions out your ass or something? How do you know how I have my systems hooked up? The game is "PLENTY good enough" to play. It's a great port. I bought it the day it came out in the US and enjoyed it. But that still doesn't change the fact about the coloring being worse than the SNES version. IMO - they could have done better on the graphics of the Genesis version. Svideo aside, almost any system from that era beats the Genesis in composite output, including the SNES.
Much less? The Final Fight released for the SNES was first generation. And, believe me, there was plenty of slowdown with the SNES one, once again, because they were still trying to compensate for the slow processor. The colors were less, but not drastically.
Colors onscreen has *nothing* to do with processor speed on the SNES. Or the Genesis either for that matter. The consoles back then had dedicated video processors with fixed color formats (4bit color tile/sprites). The amount of color onscreen was limited to the video processor first, and then to the artist second. Not the CPU. People often confused the number of colors onscreen with that of the PC architecture of that era.
Funny thing is that I've always enjoyed the SNES version. To me, like Street Fighter 2, it was almost impossible to discern between the arcade and the home version. Especially when I didn't have the arcade to test it side by side.
I know, you can just get the actual arcade version on your pc no problem for the last several years, now they only release it on the consoles, oh and not even in full screen, they leave a big black border, same with the sonic mega collection with sega
I have had my PC for 5 years. I have been playing arcade perfect Final Fight on it since... the day after I got my PC. It takes until recently for Capcom to port a perfect version of it to the consoles.
I have played Final Fight like 20 times and it is still the best classic ever.Heard about Capcom Classics Collection Vol.2 coming up? Im so gonna get a copy!!
wow, the sounds are arcade perfect, i may have to snag the psp version, hopefully final fiht will be on that version tooi would rater have the collection on psp than the home platforms... anywhooo, cool video, thanks

sega CD final fight, bester version, sounds kick ass
leomatri 5 years ago
you're nuts leomatri. Sega CD Final Fight had better sound/music but everything else is WORSE.
*worse graphic detail in the backgrounds.
*MUCH less/worse color than arcade or even SNES.
*slow-down when barrels are going across the screen. *only a maximum of 4 thugs on-screen at once, compared to 8 in the arcade or CCC.
SegaCD version was good, but not as good as arcade.

sure the Genesis supported less colors onscreen, but geez you make it sound like the SNES is showing millions and the Genesis is only showing 4. >_>

I never said colors on screen had anything to do with the slowdown of the SNES version. Excessive large sprites, definitely.
