Chaka's head voice is just ALOT louder and clearer than the "normal" singer, which sets her apart from most. ALSO, She is nearly pitch perfect. Which makes her "wail" sound damn near perfect most times.

She's got a great voice and style, but after hearing the earlier versions of Miles Davis, Chet Baker, etc., the interpretation seems too "pop" for me. The mood of the song just doesn't seem to invite this lung blasting display.
