Well, I'm currently taking a course for 3dsmax MODELING, and I would say that an object with this much detail would take something like 12 hours of work to model, of course, we haven't really gone into making advanced object from scratch yet, and we have barely gotten our feet wet in animation.

The movements are very natural looking. I wish we could've gotten into things like that, but we ran out of school year before we got to animating quadrepeds. We were getting a cartoony alligator anyways.

Did you use a biped to animate that, build a skeleton from bones, or just animate the model? Or maybe there is a new way of doing things in 9, I've only used 7.

Think it worked out really well, the movements were very realistic except for when he was walking at the beginning IMO.

Im not saying that i can do better, i am after all a modeller, but its just a litle constructive criticism.

Very well done. By no means am I saying I can do better (I really couldn't :P ) Just an opinion - The movements of the bugs are quite sudden, and change in speed quite quickly in majority of the film. Just keep that in mind : )

P.S Starship Troopers is my favorite movie of all time, but the second one SUCKED.
