  • Not a diss.....but my fav of all time would b joey jordison then u..lol...and then chassen westmoreland...then the .rev.....and I am gona stop now...lmao

  • @555JONAH666 Pretty typical favorite drummers you go there. However, two of the very best technical metal drummers are Gene Hoglan and Inferno (of Behemoth fame). Not to say those 3 don't have their ability, they're just typical.

  • Sic as hell....ur fuckin awsome.....ur like my 2 fav drummer.....

  • thanks spikey now i can play it too

  • Triplets are one beat split into three equal portions. What you're doing are gallops, which is a four note attack with a rest at the fourth. Just a heads up

  • And i quote. "THE SLIDE ISNT NECESSARY JUST MAKES TRIPLETS EASIER" for him anyway. Not me, i prefer rlr. Then for the double rl.

  • this would sound sick incorporating toms

  • You, fellow drummer, just received another subscriber!

  • hey is it ok to play RLR on ur bass drum rathe r than RRL

  • i want that tiger outfit

  • louisville hat for the win!

  • triplets are awesomeeee

  • the only drummer that can actually teach you to play metal

  • Subbed.

  • Sounds a lot like avenged sevenfold afterlife

  • r u in a band?

  • hey man, i havent seen your videos up in a while and your dvd thing idk how to find it. im sure you have been busy with stuff but you should start making more videos. like i want to learn some jazzy drum rolls, you should make a video for that

  • This is the best beat :D

  • I like your videos. They give me a good basis to start with and that's all I need. Keep at it man

  • this one was easy :D

  • :13 hahaha wtf xD

  • Hey how do you tune your bass drum it sounds awesome!

  • love your bass drum sound, and your insane skills :)

  • I love this pattern. Reminds me of the start of "This could be anywhere in the world" by Alexisonfire (the ride and snare, mainly)

  • loving the costume dude

  • such a catchy beat

  • Ahhh! Thank you for this video<3 Band practice was today and I couldn't think of anything and this totally saved my life.

  • people who thump this down is because is to hard for them

  • Why the hell haven't I seen any response videos with awesome guitar riffs to accompany this kickass drumbeat? Maybe it's because only drummers are watching it... >_>

  • What's with the Tigger suit? ROFL!

  • At first I was like who is this nut?,...but wow dude you got some skills!,....thanx I will be checking out your other drum vids!,...for sure!!!

  • hey spikey thats a good way to add triplets to the song down with the sickness by disturbed !!! when i was doin that little rythm that kinda just caught my mind

  • Well, I don't own a drum set currently, but Im really thinking of getting one, I have a drum pad right now. Also i've been playing a bunch of rock band =| just to get a bit better at coordination but watching your videos makes me wanna buy a set lol

  • I love you

  • Sick beat im pretty good at it thanks man!!

  • thats a sick beat

  • Every drummer has their own opinion on things....such as I think that sliding makes triplets mush harder...I find it simpler just to do right left right rather than right right left...good lesson though,it gave me an idea for a rythm, and it sounds like one of my earlier rythms as well...Good job!

  • That's one SICK beat.

  • spikey if i had myself an asian mail order wife, I would totally force her to cook you dinner everynight and rub your hands and feet. For a god needs to be catered to.

  • if you ever get famous in a band, WEAR THAT TIGGER SUIT!!! Keep on kickin ass man!

  • I fucking love you man.

  • man, these are not triplets, these are two sixteenth notes and one eight note...

  • Just noticed :)

  • that beat is dirty.

  • i just found my hero! and he does it while wearing a tigger suit lol. Legend!!

  • This has to be the best triplet pattern I have ever heard!

  • i lol'd so hard at 0:13 hahahaha

  • hahaahaha so did i

  • it's sounds like something from l.o.g.

  • Vigil....with the straight on 16ths....

  • he makes it look easy :(

  • I think it sounds better when you put the double in, not the triplet.

    Just my opinion.

  • 0:14 made me laugh dude

  • can u add any more metal drum beats with one pedal

  • where did you get that tigger costume haha

  • can we do that with the heel- toe teqnique

  • its all about comfortability. i myself prefer Heel-Toe.

  • question: do you have to play [right right left] on the bass drum or does playing [right left right] give it a different sound/feel/etc?

  • it should be the same feel either way. I'd play it right left right

  • hey queston.. are your spring tentions on your pedals tight or loose??:D

  • Comment removed

  • Nice thanks for being slow thing down Go spikey go

  • love the outfit! lol

  • stop at 0:14 lolololoololo

  • lol at the begin hahaha

  • Can you call three fast hits on a single pedal triplet??

  • Sorry or 2 bass notes then snare?

  • a triplet is simply a different note duration. an eighth note triplet means there are 3 notes per beat, evenly spaced, instead of two. so yes, but you probably cant play it that fast.

  • Okay...I can get my double on the bass perfect :) but not triple

  • Missed ya Spikey! :D Been taking "real" lessons, and soon ill be tight enough to farm all your awesome beats :D Keep it uup yo!

  • YOU PLAY AND JUMP FOR TIGER!!!

  • Just outta interest.. how do you tune your kick

  • it's in another of his videos. it's tight as all hell and stuffed to muffle it. makes it reeeaaal bouncy

  • dude that is sick! I started playing drums about 9 months ago and I started on a double pedal. but like 2 weeks after it broke. =[ But im getting some new ones soon. please comment me back

  • thanks man, I'm glad you've started with the double pedal! and I'm sorry that your pedal broke! that's bad news man... I hope you get it fixed soon!

  • I've played about 3 weeks with doublepedals now (Tama Iron Cobra<3 power glide ones) and I find this beat easier to play than the "basic" double pedal beat what is explained in the Double Bass video :o

  • cool man, I'm glad this beat came easier to you. It definitely works differently for everyone, so congrats man

  • i need a new drum kit...im guessing your in america or canida with your accent so...i got about 1000 dollars but i can get a double bass sepirately..what should i get?

  • well... I definitely suggest tama, mapex, or pearl... all are very nice sets for the money you are wanting to spend

  • i'm getting Joey Jordison's PEarl set next year

  • cool man, congrats on the set

  • thats a wicked beat...

    more death metal please!! =]

  • thanks man!

  • Great vid Spikey, I was wondering, did you ever take lessons? or are ye completely self-taught?

  • thanks man... I actually took lessons for a few months when I first got started, but I've been self-taught for the rest of my 10 years.

  • i dont have drums sadly, but when i go to my friends to play, im gonna practice this. cant wait

  • cool man... have fun with it!

  • This must be a repost, right?

I'm not losing my mind, right?

Anyway, my rack has arrived! Now I just have to get new skins (and lugs and a hoop in the case of one) for the 3 toms I haven't yet fitted.

Do you by chance know if there's some form of universal tom mount that would allow me to mount what is currently a floor tom on my rack? The rack has sidebars either side and they're going to waste until I get my piccolo/ my remote hihat/many many more cymbals.

    Thanks dude,

    DrTazzle

  • Oh by the way, I have actually begun my first ever drum lessons. The fellow who has become my new sensei (second to you, of course) has offered to help me feng-shui my kit, as it were, and since I had quite a fiddly time putting my rack together and mounting everything, I wonder if you would consider doing a video on A Drummer's First Rack, even if it's just hints and things on how best to set it up, what to look out for in terms of things you can do wrong etc.

    Thanks again dude,

    DrTazzle

  • that's awesome man! I really am excited for you... a drum rack can really come in handy... you can get universal clamps on ebay or musician web sites... so don't worry about that... most of the clamps are universal anyways... but congrats on the new teacher man! I hope you don't forget me dude!

  • omg!!!! second comment!!! ur the best spikey!

  • lol thanks man

  • remarkable!

  • thanks!
