This may be a stupid question but I honestly don't know, why do the boxers in most of these HBO sponsored fights have meetings prior to the bout? Thanks
Klitschko are not slow look at those uppercuts and blocks by Vitali more then boxing then just throwing fast hands u gotta have great combos like Vitali is a legend of the boxing
Well, I hope he is eating better now and taking better care of his body. He had this arrogant attitude about being out of shape. The Klitschkos have cannons and the only way to win is to be fast enough to elude some of the punches. How could Arreola keep from being in front of his man when his opponent is faster than him? Chris should have the energy to bob and move in the tyson mode to have a chance at all.
he does train but he hasnt had enough fights against the top contenders, his toughest opponent was mccline who was washed up and then he went straight to vitalt for a title, he needs beat 4-5 guys who are just under the klitschkos like maskaev, brewster, peter, rahman, valuev but not too washed up like mccline, then hell be more than ready next time
Correct me if I am wrong BUT is John Ruiz not mexican?? He did win the WBA Heavyweight title twice - If I am correct he was the FIRST mexican boxer to win the title. I could be wrong though..
I really felt sorry for arreola when he lost that fight. I really wanted him to win and then seeing him cry. that was really fucked up. Too bad man you'll win next time just dont give up.
Arreola had all the chances in the world to beat Vitali Klitschko. You look at the fight for most of the time he had the right distance he neede to punch him but took no advantage. He definitley needs to get in very good shape
people say the Klitschko's are slow just like Eddie Chambers say hes got handspeed on Wladimir thats not true because the Klitschkos are so accarate and such good timing it doesnt matter how fast u have if your got great timing and such good aim
Arreola is nicknamed "Nightmare" and he must have been having one while Vitali Klitschko beat the hell out of him on the way to a 10th-round TKO on Sept. 26. Arreola still has a future, but to beat the top heavyweights he'll need to be in better condition and have a plan B.
he should only fight the toughest contenders out there, knocking them out 1 at a time maybe 4-5 fights until you get a shot at vitaly again then arreola wil knock him out
hes only in the heavyweight division cos hes a fat bastard, whata load of bull if he was serious about the title he would take himself seriously cos until he does noone else should
Well it's back to the drawing board for Arreola's team .... I believe Oleg is the perfect opponent for Chris to comeback. He better get used to fighting Eastern European fighters ASAP, since they are the ones that dominate the division. It would not hurt him to spend some time in Eastern Europe sparring with fighters out there.
hes just got to keep on improving and fight the top contenders from now on like peter, chambers, brewster, etc to give him a better run into a title fight not like going straight from a overweight undertrained mccline to vitaly for a title fight
arreola wasnt prepared for klitschko to run the way he did cause arreola thought he would take out vitaly if they exchanged but vitaly used his footwork like never before
He didnt prepare for this fight! Lampley said it best, to be the kiltchkos you have to train 265 days a year! no breaks, no drinking, no eating shit food! Those guys train everyday, ot just the 6 weeks before the fight! The sad thing is those guys are beatable, they arent great fighters! go back 15 years and niether of those brothers would even contend for a title with with like of Bowe, Tyson, Moore, Holyfield and Lewis! That division is horrible anymore!
@cubrocka...265?!?!....erm that would give them a break of 100 days in a year lol....i knew what you meant though and i totally agree with your point.
The Klitschkos would have been a problem for anybody in any era. Bowe was beatable by a good jab, Moorer was chinny himself and had questionable desire and even Holyfield had problems with taller fighters. Not saying the brothers would have beaten them all but they fit in.
Well I agree Arreola needs to train to have any chance. The Klitschkos are great fighters though, they would at the very least have a 50-50 shot at any of those fighters you listed. None of those fighters ever faced anyone that tall and that athletic their entire careers. Apart from Lewis and he was being whooped in his fight with Vitali until he got lucky with that cut. I'm not a klitschko fan but the reality is they are great fighters. Don't get it twisted.
Still love Chris. He should mature from this fight and if he can simply train and eat properly all the time and not just in camp, he can win a title. Hope he does it.
Chris Arreola has his faults but he's a cool fighter. He just needs to realize that being an athlete is a full time commitment not 8 weeks of training camp and eating and drinking excessively outside of that.
He did it too him self and needs to stop the crying. He fought as an amature at 175lb, and then he comes in for the biggest fight of his life at 254lb? He should have been 230 tops, and thats really too much.
He was in the best shape of his career and can't nobody tell me Riddick Bowe had a 6 pack while being champ. He just doesn't have the experience yet. He took the fight too early.
Like Mexican Revolutionist Emiliano Zapata, once said, It's better to die on your feet, than live on your knees. I guess he didn't want to die that day. You can't blame him for that, he has a daughter and a wife to take care of.
He didn't want to quit. His coach quit, i honestly thing he could have done it, but i believe his trainer cares about his health and didn't want him to potentially get hurt with that big right.
i honestly believe arreola was leading himself into a knockout... people don't realize how strong vitali iz, vitali was never stopped in his career... only reason he has 2 losses. is becaused ref ended d fights do 2 massive cuts... so basically vitali iz undefeated!! (in a way)
"i wanna...i wanna" nobody gives a shit what you want. Mabey if you had gotten your fat ass on a treadmill. This is why i nobody tuned in to watch his fat ass get beat down. ZOMG TKO because of extensive facial damage LOL. "ive been working my butt off for a long time" well i hate to break it to you but your fatass is getting bigger.
shit you can't blame him for crying. I'm glad to see it, it really displays his passion for what he does. If he gets in better shape, he's still out of shape, then he will be a force to be reckoned with. He probably still won't be able to defeat klitschko, but he definately can improve. Will be interesting to watch later on.
This was the perfect storyline all Chris needed to do was create the perfect ending.
I gained more respect for Chris in losing than any other fight that he had one before. Their is no doubt in my mind that Chris will capture a Heavyweight title.
I would never put down a fighter for crying before, during or after a fight. But the way Arreola CUSSED and BLUBBERED was definitely off-putting. He sounded childish. And his defiance about admitting that he partied and ate too much is a perfect example of his lack of maturity. If you're a professional athlete, working hard during training is basically the same as cramming for a test.
Either way, the man showed lots of heart. Hope he learns from it.
This may be a stupid question but I honestly don't know, why do the boxers in most of these HBO sponsored fights have meetings prior to the bout? Thanks
