i have had car drivers try do this to me, they get quite upset about your passing them/going faster than them, all i can say is NEVER ovetake any car unless you are on the far edge of the opposing lane, not just for this reason but if you look at any overtaking accidents on youtube, the biker is always on the inner side of the lane while overtaking.

This is a common practice with asshole drivers (I've only had it happen to me once, but I put my helmet into his windshield when he drove by the gas station we had stopped at afterward. That cocksucker had the audacity to give me the finger for passing him on a dashed-yellow.
When there are several vehicles trailing behind a slow one, each waiting for an opportunity to overtake, those behind should give those ahead the opportunity to do that first, rather than overtake the entire procession. So, although the bike rider wasn't technivcally at fault, he should have taken that into account. So many times I have driven behind a truck with my indicator on and seen impatient bastards overtake me and the truck in front of me. It's suicide and murder.
@Ognen11 that's so true....when you overtake you should take into account all the other drivers. On such a busy road it's best to enter for overtaking and then wait a second or slowly accelerate. Bikes are very fast and car drivers have no way of reacting as fast as bikers.

The biker only did one thing wrong and that was being to close to the car. He had the clear though, the car had no one to pass and the motorcycle did.

I am a rider and when i am in my car, i will always expect the motorcycle behind me to try and pass me. It is 99% of the time that the motorcycle will make a move to pass you in situations like this! The more i watch the video the more it looks like the car is trying to pass, but either the dumb car driver never noticed the bike tailgating him or he did and found a perfect excuse to lash out at the bike and say he didn't see him to the cops. The drive should be able to see and HEAR the rider. Even as the rider made contact with the car the car just kept coming into the bikes path. But the car looks like it wanted to switch lanes during the curve so not intentional, but people sometimes take aggressive riding poorly and lash out on the rider. I take this into account as I ride, trust me....

No, just another biker, jamesrichardosn. And you have to watch for the things mentioned (what other drivers intend to do, etc) if you truly want to avoid accidents.
After years of riding (almost thirty years on many different bikes) I've learned to predict the behavior of drivers by watching for the subtle signs they make.
This video was an opportunity to share that experience a bit by pointing out those things to others.
Given there was less than a second between car and bike pulling out to pass, fbrz89, the driver likely did look in his rearview mirror. Just didn't do so during the second between biker and himself pulling out. In the end, the biker should have been further behind car before starting his pass and passed properly by allowing time for others to realize he was there. If he wanted to pass aggressively, he should have signaled his intention (lights or horn) before doing so. But still watch others.
In curve at 0:09, you can see another vehicle (upper right corner of video) directly in front of red car. You can also see a shadow from this vehicle at 0:11-12. Red car was evidently attempting to pass this vehicle. Given the behavior of red car (riding in the far left of the lane, crossing center line at 0:09, etc), motorcyclist should have realized red car planned to pass and not tried to pass himself. Both at fault - car didn't signal and bike tailgating, speeding, & passing improperly.

before overtaking a car, you MUST look backwards if another driver has decided to overtake you. the red car didn't look backwards and the bike fell down. the red car is guilty.
That's exactly what many cars do when you try to overtake them! I just think that they need to have some driving lesson! The bike was in his/her blind spot, he/she should've checked before overtaking, then definitely the accident would have been avoided. Now, just imagine something similar happens at a speed of 160km/h ... well this is exactly what happened to me today, except that I could avoid the accident as I was lucky to have more space to overtake. Bikers should kick ass of this drivers!

The difference is that the speed limit is a limit, not a speed you have to drive. Tail gating is something you are not allowed to do and for good reasons. If you want to drive fast or close behind somebody else go to the track and don't annoy me with it, I use the road to go from point A to point B, that's what it's there for.
In the past I have brake tested a bike for tail gating. There was a passenger on the bike, he didn't care because before I could blink he was brake testing me!
sure but there is such thing as a ticket for going to slow as there is a ticket for going too fast. i'm also using the road for point a to b aswell for enjoyment and i do not race. but if a person does tailgate on a bike which i know bikers are known to do it is no reason to run them off the road and possibly kill someone you would just be as guilty if not more then they are in the eyes of the law. and eyes of others. cutting a person off or swirving them off the road is careless driving.
When I thought about my action later I didn't think it was the most smart thing I have ever done. What if the biker would have hit me and fell? I even have a licence for driving a bike but no money to do so.
Bikers can do whatever they feel like but don't endanger others with it, the average bike has a mass of about 230 kg and is deadly when T-boning a car. I had a colleague knocked out in his car by the head (with helmet) of a bike driver and his car totalled. Not badly injured though.
i totally understand a bike can be just as dangerous to the rider as it is to a person in the car but a the driver on the bike is more likely to sustain more injuries only reason why i am trying to push this is cause i have been cut off by other drivers and nearly ran off the road cause cars just dont care about us and think we can just make room for them lukily i pay attention to these actions and back off when i see it happening but it is just too dangerous

The more i watch the video the more it looks like the car is trying to pass, but either the dumb car driver never noticed the bike tailgating him or he did and found a perfect excuse to lash out at the bike and say he didn't see him to the cops. Whatever the case It's the cars fault, blind ass!!!!!

The drive should be able to see and HEAR the rider. Even as the rider made contact with the car the car just kept coming into the bikes path. But the car looks like it wanted to switch lanes during the curve so not intentional, but people sometimes take aggressive riding poorly and lash out on the rider. I take this into account as I ride, trust me....

No, just another biker, jamesrichardosn. And you have to watch for the things mentioned (what other drivers intend to do, etc) if you truly want to avoid accidents.
After years of riding (almost thirty years on many different bikes) I've learned to predict the behavior of drivers by watching for the subtle signs they make.
This video was an opportunity to share that experience a bit by pointing out those things to others.

Given there was less than a second between car and bike pulling out to pass, fbrz89, the driver likely did look in his rearview mirror. Just didn't do so during the second between biker and himself pulling out. In the end, the biker should have been further behind car before starting his pass and passed properly by allowing time for others to realize he was there. If he wanted to pass aggressively, he should have signaled his intention (lights or horn) before doing so. But still watch others.

In curve at 0:09, you can see another vehicle (upper right corner of video) directly in front of red car. You can also see a shadow from this vehicle at 0:11-12. Red car was evidently attempting to pass this vehicle. Given the behavior of red car (riding in the far left of the lane, crossing center line at 0:09, etc), motorcyclist should have realized red car planned to pass and not tried to pass himself. Both at fault - car didn't signal and bike tailgating, speeding, & passing improperly.

few days ago I had exactly same situation.... fall over, left shoulder dislocated + left leg and both hands twisted ankles... I was in shock so I didnt kill woman driver... Always wear helmet and safe equipment!

before overtaking a car, you MUST look backwards if another driver has decided to overtake you. the red car didn't look backwards and the bike fell down. the red car is guilty.

That's exactly what many cars do when you try to overtake them! I just think that they need to have some driving lesson! The bike was in his/her blind spot, he/she should've checked before overtaking, then definitely the accident would have been avoided. Now, just imagine something similar happens at a speed of 160km/h ... well this is exactly what happened to me today, except that I could avoid the accident as I was lucky to have more space to overtake. Bikers should kick ass of this drivers!

if you look closely you can see that the car is tailgating another car and is also trying to pass and is just slower to do so and ends up hitting the bike. but who knows he could have lagged on purpose so he could hit the bike and just say he was passing, i mean it was a pretty narly swerve.

I think the driver of the car was frustrated by the bike pushing and pushing. Obviously a deliberate move by the car driver.
Though it's a bad move I can understand the action. Tail gating in my opinion is one of the most annoying, and at speed dangerous, things in traffic.

i would have to agree with you that he was prbly upset with the bike pushing him since i am a biker too and i do realize as a biker sometimes it is annoying for us to have a slow driver in front of us when we want to enjoy the road but in either case that doesnt justify what the car did he coulda killed the guy it is a dangerous move by the car and i have been cut off by cars in intersections and passing and i wasnt tailgating. not defending the biker but the car driver should never do that.

The difference is that the speed limit is a limit, not a speed you have to drive. Tail gating is something you are not allowed to do and for good reasons. If you want to drive fast or close behind somebody else go to the track and don't annoy me with it, I use the road to go from point A to point B, that's what it's there for.
In the past I have brake tested a bike for tail gating. There was a passenger on the bike, he didn't care because before I could blink he was brake testing me!

sure but there is such thing as a ticket for going to slow as there is a ticket for going too fast. i'm also using the road for point a to b aswell for enjoyment and i do not race. but if a person does tailgate on a bike which i know bikers are known to do it is no reason to run them off the road and possibly kill someone you would just be as guilty if not more then they are in the eyes of the law. and eyes of others. cutting a person off or swirving them off the road is careless driving.

When I thought about my action later I didn't think it was the most smart thing I have ever done. What if the biker would have hit me and fell? I even have a licence for driving a bike but no money to do so.
Bikers can do whatever they feel like but don't endanger others with it, the average bike has a mass of about 230 kg and is deadly when T-boning a car. I had a colleague knocked out in his car by the head (with helmet) of a bike driver and his car totalled. Not badly injured though.

i totally understand a bike can be just as dangerous to the rider as it is to a person in the car but a the driver on the bike is more likely to sustain more injuries only reason why i am trying to push this is cause i have been cut off by other drivers and nearly ran off the road cause cars just dont care about us and think we can just make room for them lukily i pay attention to these actions and back off when i see it happening but it is just too dangerous
