  • Before this episode came out, I would always use this operant conditioning method as a way of making girlfriend. It sometimes worked. But.. oh well... now everybody knows.

  • @StoryBPhotography Sorry but clearly you aren't since the scene exhibits operant conditioning techniques.

  • I'd definitely say that this exemplifies operant conditioning, rather than CBT :)

  • Hiliarious. Am studying CBT so this is cute.

  • "I can't be impossible, I exist! I think what you meant to say is, I'm improbable."

    XDD

  • its operant conditioning FYI

  • Who watches anime on TV?

  • Most certainly Operant Conditioning. Not CBT. Great clips though.

  • @ChrisCDepew its classical conditioning TBH

  • great show!

  • rather behaviorism!

  • hi guys please rell me what season and episode this is.

  • This is more ABC behavioral therapy.

  • Is this cognitive therapy? This is replacement behavior therapy.

  • @SpecialGuy21 It's actually Behavior Analysis.... Reinforcing segments of behavior to get a certain outcome. Many therapies use this technique in different ways.... but it's definitely Behavior Analysis... e.g B.F. Skinner training the dogs/rats with food/water. (I had to do this in my rat lab class).

  • This show is funny.

  • Leonard: Okay, I know what you're doing.

    Sheldon: Really?

Leonard: Yes! You're using chocolate as positive reinforcement for what you consider correct behavior!

    Sheldon: Very good........... Chocolate?

ROTFLMAO! 4:24 - 4:41 is the best! Teehee!

  • This isn't CBT, it's more like positive reinforcement (reinforcing a behaviour by rewarding or giving something). CBT aims to change behaviour by changing thoughts (cognitions) and core beliefs based on the theory that thoughts, feelings and behaviours are all linked, and if you modify one, you can modify the others.

That being said, I love Big Bang Theory, and this was a really funny episode!

  • more like operant conditioning

  • what is the name of this episode?

  • Its from Big Bang Theory. It comes on CBS. You can sometimes DL it on Limewire. Not available from iTunes.

  • @mattbrennan81 O'Rly! orlyowl.istheshit

  • Ohhh thank you for meaking it clear, in fact is very hilarious to show examples like this one.

  • I love this TV show but I would like to know if this was a real example of cognitive behavioral therapy?

  • This is an example of a behaivoral modificaiton technique - not cognitive behavioral therapy.

  • Wonder if anyone else has stumbled onto that?

  • Pavlov, Watson, Carl Rogers

  • Lol, was quoting the last line in the sketch. :P

  • @2psychologists add my girlfriend to that list :D
