Hey fellas please don't troll or get over protective. I really love the xterra but alot of forums say they break down all the time during off road, how ever minor it is. Is this true? I am seriously considering buying an xterra for my first car so you can imagin i'll be doin some jumps off hills and curb stomping to steal the parking at the next isle.. Is this suv the best choice for me considering my type of abuse and small wallet? please msg me some solid facts or a list love xterra tho

I have a 2010 OR MT. I love it. Went wheeling at Corral Hollow atop Bear Valley Ski area, The Lost Coast USAL road, Hollister SVRA, and Pismo SVRA so far. Next upgrade will be the Shrockworks rock sliders. In a few years, (after the warranty runs out) I want to add the Calmini 5" suspension lift and a winch bumper. Check out my wheeling videos!
I almost rolled a Suzuki down that hill. Wife and nephew had to climb out the driver side window and I backed (100 yards) down the hill. Epic fail...know your limits to each vehicle. Great video.
Are these X's stock? I'm looking at a 2010 and can't wait to have it. Also, what kind of bar is on the front of the silver one? It looks awesome! Nice video and good soundtrack... 12 Stones is an awesome band...been a fan since 2001.

Great video showing the capabilities of this car. I have just bought a brand new xterra OR and have taken it out just the once in the Dubai dunes, and it's extremely capable. And great value at the price.
That was a fun day, I have the silver 06 X going through the water. The high point was watching so many other vehicles not making it up the hill. When the white xterra went up-through some big newly made holes - there was disbelief and silence from the Ford,Toyota and Jeep people.
I have a 2008 S 4x4 w/ 2" lift and General Grabber2 tires. I added full skid plates front to rear but did some serious rock crawling at Moab and never scraped underneath (only my rear leave shackles twice). Didn't even move the spare. Great truck. Did better some places than a Jeep Rubicon we hung with. I had a 2008 Jeep JK 4dr w/ lockers before, and I like this better (more power, comfort, quiet and tow capacity! Great truck.
I have had my 06 since 06' and love it great SUV great car. Did not know ppl are crazy about it till now. Maybe I will get a 2010 here soon... what ya think!!!
i think in this video it had the 2 inch lift w/ control arms - -- this is a veteran driver - so he made it look easy and spotted for the rest of us that day...
I love my Xterra. I have a 2003 solor yellow. I'm never second guessing it when it comes to off roading. Point your xterra where you want to go and it will get you there, with out any problems.
I prefer nat sound as well, just felt like cutting to something rock-ish that day - - BTW, hearing gears is a bad thing - that's when you tell your buddy to STOP!
@ut48 Was thinking the same thing. Hearing a ring gear is something you never want to hear on the trail haha, thankfully I don't expect to have any issues with my 4.88s :D
When u show me a stock pathy with 381 ft lbs of torque and a locked D44, I'll agree. Pathys are badass, but go drive a 05+ Xterra OR. Sick as fuck right out of the box.
when you show me an xterra with 381lb-ft of torque, i'll take you seriously. come to think of it, the pathfinder is available with more torque (VK56) than any xterra (VQ40). so, what were you saying?
oh hells yeah. toyotas are pretty reliable and the fj is fairly new but the xterra has more hp and tq. I have an 08 xterra offroad and I love it. I want to buy the calmini five inch lift and hopefully the stillen supercharger in the future. checkout edwardwebb his xterra is the look I am going for.
whay do you mean good luck I can find them on line right now. but in reality I probably wont ever supercharge my x. its alot of work and alot of money but the lift is a for sure. I am kinda leaning towards the prg advanced coilover kit now though. its only a 3" kit but with the calmini kit you have to drop your front differential and I dont know how I feel about that. I like ground clearence and the last thing I need is my diff scrapping on some rocks.
Sick. Xterras are so rugged.

I have an '03 X. I love the car, unfortunately it doesnt have the 4.0 they have in the '06. The only issue i have with mine is it seems underpowered.
