I'd like to see a couple of other Maxwell House ads. Didn't they do the "cup and a half" ad? And I'd like to see the ad from the early 90s when a whole group of people broke out into song humming the "percolator song" or whatever it was.
@thegirl44 No MH did the "cup and a half" of flavor ad where they somehow made it look like coffee was above and outside the cup. They did it long before CGI.
I wonder what ad I'm thinking of then? The guy's in his local diner and the waitress offers him more coffee and he says, "Just half a cup, it gives me heartburn..." or something to that effect and she reinstates his coffee drinking potential by giving him a roll of antacids from beside the register. I always wondered if she charged him for the antacids, lol.
I've sent you the ad for MH. I'm thinking that they must have run this campaign for quite some time as I remember commercials with the same concept from the 80's?
Ah well, if it sells the product may as well stick with it, I guess.
I LIKE THIS....this could have been how General Foods might have pitched Instant Maxwell House in the early '60s. Very imaginitive graphics....I see a future for somebody here!

I'm pretty sure that the "cup and a half of coffee" ad was actually an antacid ad. I remember the group sing of the percolator pot, though.
