  • I'd use winamp to convert the gym files to wav and then another program to make them mp3 files.

  • @Trapster2 - I'd rather use the original hardware to record the music because anything that uses emulation, be it an emulator or plugins for music-playing programs, will have imperfections in the sound(imperfect volume balance, false notes, etc.). That's why I never use emulation unless I don't have a copy of whatever game I'm either playing for a Gaming Session or recording the music for a 10 Minutes of Video Game Music video.

  • To be honest, I like this version better than the arcade one.

  • @Trapster2 Really? I always thought the arcade version of this tune had much more "oomph" to it. This one sounds flat, and the VGZ rip of it has white noise in the background (you can't hear it so much here).

Now the stage 2 theme, that's another story completely. The Mega Drive version of the stage 2 theme is MUCH better than the arcade stage 2 theme.

  • @Teraforce88 - Do you happen to have the VGZ rip? For all we know, it could have been done using an emulator that's inferior to Kega Fusion. If you have the rip, send it over. I can tell just by the quality of the sound whether it was recorded using an emulator or original hardware. I had to use an emulator because I don't have a Zero Wing cartridge. One of these days, I should import one from Europe for the ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US madness.
