  • When I was a little girl, my mom would not allow me inside the kitchen! No where near the stove! She would say "Hot burn you." So, as I grew older, I would watch Julia Child's TV program to learn how to cook. :) My grandmother was always a social butterfly; did very little in the kitchen. But Julia was always there. Come to find out, as time went by, I married a prince-like man who does most of the cooking in our household. What a treat! I plan on preparing this cheese souffle, however.

  • omg look at that butter. I fear for my life!

  • she is just great.

  • *Says "Nutmeg!" like Julia*

  • She's halarious!

  • To compare:

Sandra Lee--two minutes opening cans, twenty minutes building a "tablescape"

Julia Child--twenty minutes cooking, two minutes putting the thing on a table and pouring a glass of wine.

    Julia wins every time.

  • @sweeneyt1 i really cant believe the term 'tablescape' exists. such a ridculous concept.

  • I am Hard right now

  • i'm drooling...the souffle looks really good.

  • This appears to have a very rare/unique WGBH sounder with the French flag at the opening. Cool!

  • @MrGilbertshow

In the black & white series (1963-66), Julia was much more restrained and even awkward, compared to the color series (where her energy level is high)
