Tom didn't use drugs back in the day. Maybe weed(only cause not many people DON'T smoke, especially in a band setting) and he abused pain killers a few years ago. But he never did hard drugs. Plus he's more mature, he had to grow up sometime.
If you've been in a band setting then you can tell when someone uses drugs :P Look at Circa Survive: as much as I love Anthony Green and as much as I love his music, you can tell he goes onstage on either an upper(like in videos where he's dancing all over the place) or a downer(when he just kinda clings to the mic stand and/or doesn't move around at all). I'm quite sure Tom never used drugs.
@ViridZebra No...? Pain killers may have a higher death rate but that's only because of how easy they are to get compared to coke or heroin. But no painkiller(at least not in America) is harder than heroin or coke except MAYBE morphine(which he wasn't addicted to) or opium(if you consider opium a painkiller. It was usedn as a painkiller at one point.)

The "real" tom is this Tom. I think a lot of people(not necessarily you) don't realize that he now has a family. @jo5erock Of course they've chaged. They've grown up and have kids now. Not only as people but musicians as well. Tom went from his fender to a gibson, both Tom and Mark went with different amps now. I grew up listening to these guys and loved the shit/fuck humor. But everyone grows up with time.

Sad thing about pop bands (and they had a pop element in their sound) is that more than other genres they are linked with teenagers in a way that they represent what most teens are and feel and stuff. It's very hard for a band like blink to do albums that had the impact their earlier stuff had, because they're not the stupid, retarded kids they used to be (not offending blink, just describing them as they describe themselves), so teens can't relate with them anymore.

Tom didn't use drugs back in the day. Maybe weed(only cause not many people DON'T smoke, especially in a band setting) and he abused pain killers a few years ago. But he never did hard drugs. Plus he's more mature, he had to grow up sometime.

If you've been in a band setting then you can tell when someone uses drugs :P Look at Circa Survive: as much as I love Anthony Green and as much as I love his music, you can tell he goes onstage on either an upper(like in videos where he's dancing all over the place) or a downer(when he just kinda clings to the mic stand and/or doesn't move around at all). I'm quite sure Tom never used drugs.

@ViridZebra No...? Pain killers may have a higher death rate but that's only because of how easy they are to get compared to coke or heroin. But no painkiller(at least not in America) is harder than heroin or coke except MAYBE morphine(which he wasn't addicted to) or opium(if you consider opium a painkiller. It was usedn as a painkiller at one point.)

i don't do drugs, i have a ton of argument against them... but as an active semi-pro musician i know that sometimes when you're 30days on tour, playing a show everyday, coffe just isn't enough. and if you want to achieve a certain success, you either deal with it, or fail.

Sad thing about pop bands (and they had a pop element in their sound) is that more than other genres they are linked with teenagers in a way that they represent what most teens are and feel and stuff. It's very hard for a band like blink to do albums that had the impact their earlier stuff had, because they're not the stupid, retarded kids they used to be (not offending blink, just describing them as they describe themselves), so teens can't relate with them anymore.
